They are definitely loud enough to wake up even the deepest sleeper… that’s for sure! But the alarm function never worked on mine since the clock itself constantly got stuck. I could only turn mine on manually to see the balls tumble around, which got old after about 30 seconds.

Now the Sanyo Sea Story version, has lights, Sea Story Music, no balls though, but real brass nails; not plastic, however it’s dual purpose, it’s a coin bank too! It plays music and puts on a light show every time you drop a coin, AND it’s an alarm clock! Promotes saving up for real pachinkos!

Never seen the inside of one of these before; so I guess it's a cyclic machine and the balls just always go back to the launch area? The circuitry doesn't look too complicated.

Yes they are cyclic; and more often than not the electronics don’t work anymore…so finding a working one is a really nice score!

less than a handful on eBay last 20 years

I remember seeing an add from one of the conversion companies on these a while back. I'm not sure but I believe they were out of either Texas or California. When it was apart for cleaning I noticed the internal ball guide for the ball dump(which is moot now) was filthy. They apparently just took these off the ship, slipped their electronics/cabinet etc in and so on and away they went, original dirt and all.

The one I have been wanting the most just arrived today: Umaibo

And it is just as cute as I was expecting . Although the push block endlessly ticking is annoying when it's just sitting idle and nobody is playing. But it's super pretty and with the orange knob it is begging for a bright orange cabinet... Time to get to work. Thank you Karen. And thank you Austin. Although, lotso, did you outbid me on the manual for the machine? Better scan it and send me a copy if you did.

The 8th shipment arrived earlier this week so I have a few new acquisitions
