    Default New member...and new machine

Howdy folks, new member here. I'm about to finally realize one of my long-standing dreams of owning a vintage pachinko machine. A local friend of mine who is a purveyor of fine vintage things acquired this machine for me, which I'll be picking up from him sometime soon. In the mean time, all I have are pictures and a video clip of it being played. Was hoping someone might be able to help me identify what I've got here. All I know for sure is that it's a New Gin machine...

Looking forward to learning more, thanks in advance!

Haha, very likely! Down the rabbit hole I go...

Question: Is it common that I cannot identify the model of this 1970s NewGin or find any matching models online? I have probably scanned through a few thousand vintage pachinko photos on Google images so far and have not found a match. Not that it’s super important, just thought it would be fun to know what it was called. I do think I have matched the year of the Japanese gaming license/stamp to others that were made in 1975. But that’s all I’ve come up with.

Good question. Can’t see from the photos either, and the machine is still at my friend’s house. I’ll inspect closer when I get it to my workshop later this week.

    Welcome to Pachitalk

looks like a nice vintage machine... the machines don't start to get themes or names until we get closer to the 80's.. vintage machines like "power flash" and the "roulette wheel" are some of the first themed style of machines..

machines from the era of yours seem to have been assembles with the parts they had.. we see machines from different manufacturers with the same parts.. finding identical twins is not so common but they are out there.. finding machines with the same center and different play fields happen quite often..

    hope that helps

Welcome! Looks like a really clean machine. It looks like a previous owner wired it for a wall outlet. If it's like most machines of the era, you can replace that with a 9v battery and not have to worry about plugging it in. I use rechargeable 9v in all of mine, replaced most of my bulbs with LEDs, and almost never have to replace the batteries.
