    Default Newbie power supply issue

    Hi,
ive recently bought a 2003 Beast Sapp Pachislo, it currently has a 2 pin Japanese Plug and a green wire coming out of the back which I presume is an earth wire. The black sticker panel at the top of the machine has Japanese language and then has 110w and 2A bellow it.

From what I’ve described can anyone tell me if I require a step down converter to run on a UK 240v, and also where the green wire is supposed to go?

To be honest. No idea. Pachislos come in either 24v or 100v.
They both have the the same plug as well. I have one of each.
You need to see if you can find the data plate which will say either 24vac or 100vac

Thanks for the responses, I think I’ve found the data plate. Would this suggest that it is 100vac? If so what kind of transformer/adaptor will I require?

Sorry for the late reply, the first two pictures show the plug and what I think is an earth wire and the second two show where the data plate looks to be on the door.

It looks like a 100v one. You used to be able to get a straight US to UK transformer from Maplins till they closed. You can get the same one from Amazon

Just plug in a go. But before you get this one. It's worth hunting around as this one seems a little pricey. I'm sure they used to be £10-15 cheaper than this one.

Although it 110v not 100v I have had one running my machine off one of these for years. Plus our US friends get away with plugging theirs straight in.

    It's a 100V power supply.
Here in the USA, we would just plug it into the wall outlet.
In the UK, you need a step down transformer. Calm can tell you what you need.

The loose wire is a ground.

The data plate you have pictured is for the ballast, for the fluorescent bulb, in the belly glass.

Thanks again for the responses, I’ve order the same step down transformer albeit a bit cheaper. Is there anything specific I should do with the ground wire once it arrives?

If you can earth it. Do. If not, just keep it tidy and tuck it out the way.
