Question Replacing the background on a Nishijin B 1977

How does one replace the background on a pachinko machine? is it just a adhesive layer that covers wood? I have water damage around the brass pins that I want to get rid of. Im getting the "Bonefish" design for an American Football themed machine. But I cannot find resources on how it is replaced.

Anything that could help is appreciated.

it's a bit labor intensive, but it's not really that difficult if you can work on the rest of the machine.

Hardest part about it is pulling the nails without damaging them. Excellent opportunity to clean them though.

When I first started to restore, I bought that ebook. Highly recommend it.

I’ve done a lot of playfield replacements over the past couple of years. They are labor intensive, but not overly hard to do.
if you ever want to chat about the process, I’m always available to my PachiTalk friends.
