    Default Antique pachinko

This one looks pretty interesting; quite a bit older than most you see for sale. Pre-Masamura gauge and not terrible condition. I wonder what the theme is? https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/h424222243

Wow, very cool. I don't really understand how it functions though!

Apparently the theme is Urashima Tarō - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urashima_Tar%C5%8D

I assume the woman to the left wearing the pink is Princess Otohime. He's crying the forbidden jewelled box, and it looks like he's actually riding a turtle?

Wow thanks! I've really wanted a pre-1950s machine.

Good luck on your bidding! Looks like it is missing the hand crank (there’s a block off plate on the front) that lifts the balls in the rear; and a lot of the rear chutes/payout mech/hopper. If it had that stuff would probably be selling for 100,000+ yen though! It would make a fascinating “wall hanger” though!

I’m sure it’s possible to repair; if you know someone with some serious metal working skills. Although I’d probably just leave it as is to keep it “all original” personally.

Checkout how high these go for, this one is “junk”

Oh yes I'd be buying it purely as a historical piece. I have been doing coin-op history booths for a few years and I just want this to help better tie together the 1930s American vertical machines with the British Allwins in terms of pachinko origins.
Plus, the art is fabulous and looks horribly fragile. I'd never dare to even shoot a single ball through it. The paint looks ready to delaminate at the slightest breeze.

Anyways, I'm going to bid on it. If you're on this site and also going for it, maybe discuss with me in advance so it's not just us going back and forth LOL

OK sure but that's also basically mint condition and the seller is obviously a commercial seller. He's also trying to sell 1970s machines for 50,000 Yen too

Very cool. I thought it was an Allwin at first glance! Had to do a double take to determine it was really a 30’s-40’s era pachinko with cool art/theme! I’m on a self imposed hiatus of importing any new (or old) machines till at least next year.

Well I topped out at 25,000. If you win that machine, let us know here! I would have bid higher but this has been a pricey year.

I will still be looking for pre-1950s Japanese machines if anyone ever has any leads in the future.

I much prefer when an auction goes WAY BEYOND my limit instead of just 500 yen past
    WANTED: 10¥ games, pre-1950s machines, スマートボール (Smart Ball), payazzo/kronespill, Pickwick-style (~1905)
if you have any of these in North America, let's talk.

Actually this machine is probably missing very little, if anything. This looks to be a pre-war token pachinko or at least pre-1948 as token style machines became illegal in 1947. If you notice, there is nowhere to put a pachinko ball into this machine. There is a token slot on the upper right and the area on the lower left that looks like it may be a block off for a manual ball lifter crank is actually a winning token payout slot. There wouldn't be a ball hopper as balls would be kept within the machine in a cyclic fashion and released for play when you deposited your token. Hard to tell with certainty, but it looks like it just needs the payout chute to be bent back up so the token slides out, maybe a bit of bending in other spots, and possibly a solder or pivot pin on one of the arms. This one is a rare find. I am not sure if I have ever seen one for sale and would be very interested to know if anyone here owns one of this type of machine.
