Default My first modern pachinko machine Daito Twenty Four, issues

    My first post here!

I picked up a 2010 Daito Twenty Four (CR 24) modern pachinko machine last week. When I first plugged it in, it immediately tripped the circuit breaker. I tried again and the same thing happened. Next I removed all other devices plugged into that circuit and tried again....this time nothing happened. The circuit breaker did not trip, nor did the machine turn on. Just silence.

I've removed the power supply and checked the fuse (1A/125V) which looked OK. Nothing else looks out of place or burned up.

Any advice on troubleshooting? Or is there a place to buy a new power supply?

    I'm located in Austin, Texas.

    Thanks in advance!

    Welcome.

When you say as soon as you plug it in it trips the breaker. Are you talking about your fuse panel of your dwelling or a breaker on the machine itself?

Also the transformer what is the voltage stamped on it 100V or 120V 60hz etc if any?

If you have tapatalk app on your mobile can you attach some pictures so we can all see some visuals?

There was a spark/pop on the surge protector strip, and the fuse panel on the wall tripped. I had to reset it on the wall before trying again.

I'll try to install the app and upload photos asap.

is that surge strip a good one or a cheap one can you just plug anything in it like a lamp or anything in the same outlet without it tripping a breaker

You are running a step down transformer between your mains supply and the machine. Aren't you? Machines as standard had a 24vac plug that looks the same as your mains outlet plug.

No step down transformer....I just plugged it in since the plug style looked correct. The guy I bought it from said that's how he used it (maybe I was scammed).

I can put the standard Jst connector on it if your machine has it.

thats interesting i have seen power supplies in pachislos that look like that but all of mine are using the stepdown transformers. can you take some pictures of the entire back of the machine and post them. even the front. a member here may have a similar machine and could compare. mine range from 1995 to 2015 and they all have the stepdown transformer to drop 120v to 24 vac.

me personally I do not know of any machine that takes 120 V directly. in Japan they use 100V

looks like a cool machine how about the back. on that power supply do you see any tags or markings that look like specifications? if so take a pic of those too. they are prob in Japanese. but those can tell us what power specs its needing. that could be key.

Has anyone else seen a machine with a PSU like this and no Step down?

The power cord plugs into the left side of it as you can see here (plus the ground)

Entire back of machine. It’s partially disassembled at the bottom so I could access the PSU

that looks like a DC power supply. Did it have a standard 120 v plug on it when you bought it?

here is another one of mine the plug looks like it takes a 120v but it would blow if you did these gray wires are again fed by a 24v step down transformer. if you do not see a giant coil to drop it to 24 vac in that supply thats prob your issue. your missing a key component to safely power it.

in Japan they have standards and giant power supplies that all feed 24 VAC to the equipment. the board you show has many connections that indicate lower DC v see the pic it shows 24v
