Default Lupin the III - early 00's: line in screen

Turned on this older Lupin machine I recently acquired today and a horizontal line appeared out of nowhere on the display. It won't go away.

    There's 3 options as I see it:

    1. Some wires came loose to/from the display. Find'em and plug them back in.
    2. Live with it
    3. Replace the screen (no idea where I'd buy that).

    What do you think?

This looks like the symptoms of a failure on the LCD panel itself, and it is likely that the only way to fix it is to replace the LCD panel.

It is unlikely to be a loose wire or connector problem external to the display, as the signals on the wires would affect the entire display if there was a bad connection. It might be a connection problem inside the LCD panel, but these need a fair bit of skill to disassemble and repair (actually the disassembly is quite easy, it's the getting it back together with less faults than you started with that is the tricky part!)

It could also be a RAM fault on the A/V board, but I'd consider this to be less likely (as it would usually corrupt a larger portion of the display), and would be harder to fix or source a replacement board, so I'd go with an LCD panel swap as my first attempt to repair this.

So if you decide that you don't want to choose the 'live with it' option, you are going to need to remove the cell from the machine, and disassemble it down to the LCD panel, to find the manufacturers part number for the panel, so you can source a replacement. I'm not sure of which Lupin 3rd machine this is, so I don't know if I can offer advice on the cell removal / disassembly process for this machine, but posting more pictures of the machine will usually help to find someone who can talk you through it.

    Thank you daverob!

I'll work on disassembling to get the part #. In the meantime, it's the oldest version of a Lupin Pachinko I could find- according to the link, it's just CR Lupin the third.
