Default My first experiences of refurbing machines

I thought I'd pass along my experiences from refurbishing three machines that I recently purchased. I went to Pachislo USA's storage facility to pick up a few raw machines. Robert is going out of business, and I took him up on the offer that he made to us. I got a Yamasa Time Park, Sammy Super Animal King, and a Heiwa Golgo 13, 2 transformers, & 500 tokens for a total of $200. I've got to admit that they're all pretty good machines (2 are LCD's), although they're not super-premiums. Robert was great to deal with as well. His remaining machines present a very good resale opportunity for someone.

These machines were in very clean condition, but needed to be refurbished. I had to install 2 transformers, remove the pins from the main door locks, and install a toggle switch for the reset key. I've never done this before, but I would definately say that none of these were too difficult. The toggle switch on the Time Park was the only problem for me. The power supply box was too crowded, and I snapped a small pushbutton switch when I bumped it. I looked online for electronics components dealers for a replacement part, but I soon thought that this was not the way to go. I contacted Stealth, and they came through with a replacement part to my door within 48 hours. It was very reasonably priced, considering it wasn't one of their machines.

Bravo to both vendors, and don't fear rolling up your sleeves a little bit!

Sounds like you're having fun now, Chris.
You got a good deal and get to tinker too!

I hope your Catfish doesn't get jealous of those new machines.

Just for the record, I don't own Da Catfish. I need to stay married.

    WHAT?!?!?!?

    Say it ain't so...

That makes Da Catfish even MORE rare, with one less person owning it!

Does anyone actually own Da Catfish? If they did, would they admit it?

I'm tellin' ya... it's ULTRA rare!!!

Dealers have to buy plenty of rounds at the karaoke bar just to get their hands on one.

Or... was that the sushi bar?
