    Default New purchase: "The Egyptian"

I will have to add photos later. I just purchased a modern machine called "The Egyptian ". It was apparently last shopped in 2003....not sure of the original age. It was pulled from the depths of a dirty garage under the premise that it didn't work. Came with a big tray of silver and gold balls, and I just gave the guy $20 and loaded it up not knowing a thing about it. Turns out, it works.....there may be a light or two out, and the LED screen could be a bit brighter. But it may be a functional machine. This is of course after I fished a Lego out of the shooter!

Anyway, does anyone have "The Egyptian"?

So, after filling the ball tray and playing it a bit........the error code is on "7". Additionally, while the reels will spin and the LED video board will play when a center jackpot is hit, NOTHING happens when any of the other jackpots are hit. Zero ball payout. I have tried the blue reset button, but that doesn't seem to trigger anything. Also, there is no "dongle" although I'm not exactly sure what function it would serve on my machine. Anyone have any ideas regarding my comments? Thanks in advance!

It shoots fine, although the shooter does get stuck a bit. It's just not paying out at all.

Are you sure you've got balls all the way down to the payout motor? Make sure there are no obstructions?

Looks like here was a 2002 Sankyo model called 'Egyptian' , so presume it's this one?

No, I'm not sure...........I am a vintage guy by nature, and these modern ones freak me out a bit with all of the wiring going everywhere. That said, to get such a machine (dirty as it is) in relatively good condition, lights up like a Christmas tree, etc for $20, is exciting. I will try to post pics tonight. Like I said, I think a few lights are out, and if I can get it to payout, I'll have scored big on this one. Question: Is there supposed to be a "payout motor" that runs continuously? I had a Hameno (spelling) machine once that had a motor that ran all the time...............like I said, I normally deal with vintages; gravity is usually easy to fix.

Note: According to Hanabi's post, my error #7 means that the "payout full sensor registers empty". What the hell does that mean?

Not sure, but is the back hopper full with pachinko balls?

perhaps there are not enough in there?

Also, are you sure lights are out, as on many moderns a lot of the lightshow doesn't happen til a Fever round, etc

here's a couple of links that may help (apologies if you already have them)

is the "Payout Motor" supposed to be "running" at all times? Right now, there is no motor running...........when I drop a ball into a winner feature, it simply drops all the way through the back of the machine into the ball tray. No bells. No whistles. No motor. No payout. Ideas?

Hmm... I had a machine in that frame... a few years ago... so this is coming from old memory. But there was something jamming the payout mechanism (a screw) and that caused an error (not sure if it was #7). Cleaned it out and everything was good.

    Just a wild suggestion...

So, after fishing another Leto out of the payout chute, nothing. So, I took apart the payout motor casing, and after screwing around with that, I put it back together to no avail. Apparently the machine works perfectly EXCEPT for the payout motor. Does anyone have one from a parts machine that works? Or better, any ideas on how to tinker mine back to life?

Do you still have a code 7 on the back? An error can be sent if the front bottom payout tray is full of balls or if balls are jammed up prior to that tray in the back.

well, after fishing out the Legos and filling the tray back full of balls, it works! Thanks for sending me back out to the garage, Pete! The error number went away, and it started paying out. I still can't believe my luck.....$20 for a working modern and a tray of mostly decent balls to boot. Now I've got 2 things to do......clean it up, and figure out which machines to get rid of. I now have 8, which is at least 3 too many. One of the extras is a power flash. I now have 2, but I'm not yet sure which one I'm going to sell. Both are thunderbirds. Also thinking of getting rid of my working computer pachinko. More for another day, another post.

Thanks to all who helped me through the diagnosis!

Yes, I'll copy my post here:

we are aware there is currently an issue with pic uploads, they are not working in the usual way, it is being investigated.

In the meantime you need to reduce them to get them to work, think maybe down to 800 x 600?

I tried to start a new thread about a week ago...got a message stating that the file size was too large. Thought it was strange because I had posted pics before, and I don't know how to change size on my tablet. Thought it was just my stupid tablet! Makes sense now.
Bigdog...Glad to hear you got it working! For a great price to boot!
