Will the weight of a prize ball actuate the payout if it's empty?

I haven't gotten to tearing that area apart, I was hoping I could play it without doing that, it's a bit intimidating to me.

No, I haven't cleaned them out yet, as I said above, I'm a little intimidated by the whole mechanism, but that seems to be what my next step needs to be if I want to be able to play it.

    Thanks for all the replies!!

A good clean and polish of the pivot points can make a huge difference.

this would be a great place to start.. take your time take lots of pictures.. clen in in a large place like the dining room table so you can place the parts in the order they were removed so you can put them back in the reverse order..

    its really perty easy...

And be careful when removing the eclip. They like to fly across the room never to be seen again.

So, update, I haven't tested it yet, I haven't completed the cleaning that I want to do to ensure I don't have to tear it apart again, but the parts of it that I've gotten cleaned up and put back together seem to be moving even better than they were before. I didn't think they were that tough to move before.

As far as the e-clips...I've been very fortunate. I've dropped one 3 times, and I was able to find it again and FINALLY get that one clipped on

Thank you EVERYONE for all your suggestions and pointers, I'm getting really excited to possibly have a completely working machine

Well, finally finished cleaning everything that I wanted to clean, and it still doesn't work. I'm going to be getting a tumbler and cleaning all the balls, **maybe** that will fix the issue...otherwise I've got nothing

Ok, so here's something that I noticed. Referencing the video where the balls actually move when I manually move the jackpot lever(here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8RtpbdSbGE). I'm wondering if the thing that's supposed to stop the balls from falling into the jackpot area is not supposed to be touching any of the balls that are already there. In the picture here, one of the balls seems to be sitting out of place compared to the other side and all of the other balls:
    IMG_2898[1].jpg

So maybe the little metal part that is on the left needs to be bent in a little? I don't know, I'm grasping at anything that I can think of...I really want this machine to work.

Do post a couple good clear pics of the entire back without any covers. Maybe an alignment issue somewhere.

Did you clean and polish all the pivot points from the seesaw through to the jackpot mech including a complete jackpot dissassembly?

Would you post another close up without the balls?

    You maybe onto something here.

Ok, here are some pics of the jackpot area without the balls in:

and here are some pics of the back without as many covers as I could pretty easily get off:

Thank you so much for taking a look!

I checked all my machines and unfortunately I don't have one with that plastic ball stop. Can you pull the jackpot mech out and see if it looks off at all? Everyone I have or have seen of that style payout mech all have just a metal stop plate.
I would think it should block the flow of balls easily without them having to move. Perhaps it is bent slightly on one side?

The stopper plate doesn't seem to be bent at all, but I did notice that the bottom metal piece doesn't seem to be sitting 'straight':
    IMG_2907.jpg

The left side seems much closer to the edge above it than the right side. Does this look 'normal' or might that be some of the problem?

Also...does anyone know how many balls this machine is supposed to pay out on a jackpot? It seems like it is 15.

Looks ok. Some seem to be slightly offset. Is probably a 15 payout, if less it is usually noted somewhere on the machine.

Just thinking outside the box here, but you are using real pachinko balls right? Size or weight could be a factor.

    Definitely a head scratcher.

Maybe load the payout mech while you have it off the machine and see if you can adjust something to allow the stop plate to block without it having to move balls to do so.
