The left side seems much closer to the edge above it than the right side. Does this look 'normal' or might that be some of the problem?

Also...does anyone know how many balls this machine is supposed to pay out on a jackpot? It seems like it is 15.
Have seen that curved metal plate being the problem in the past. All I would do is trial and error bending to see if bending one side at a time makes any difference.

Your machine is supposed to payout 15 (occasionally a machine will payout 10 but usually has a badge somewhere saying "10")

Have seen the jackpot lever (the one the jackpot ball pushes down) being slightly bent and rubbing on the front wood or back plastic.

Have seen the machine not being on a level surface (like on a table on a garage floor) and/ or not tilted back enough to work properly.

It's trial and error at this point, sorry.

    AH HA!!!!

It turns out that the metal plate at the bottom of the jackpot area was a little mis-aligned. I bent it in a little and now the stopper clears the balls at the top and there's no resistance at all and now it will cycle the jackpat WAHOOO!!!!!!

A big THANK YOU to everyone who gave me suggestions and took the time to look through my stuff, you all are .

You know what is needed next?

Pictures / videos of it working! All cleaned up, going crazy with jackpots.

There is an art to nail bending to maximize jackpots.
    You can do it.
It's not Japan, more jackpots is always more fun. Don't be stingy.

It seems like I read about nail bending in a book.

This picture shows the typical nails to slightly bend to increase payouts.
Tried to show which direction to bend with a black line.
