Mephisto Sound Problem

When the fourth reel activates on my Mephisto, and it lands on a Devil (blue), the machine starts playing a really cool tune. However, on my machine, that tune stops about 3/4 of the way through. The sound seems to break up and then it just ends abruptly. Tried re-setting, checking connectors etc. and it still does it.
There doesn't seem to be any problems with the other sound effects.
Any suggestions?

I can only offer the usual check connections. But it sounds like a sound chip problem(?).
