    Default Tiny bugs....

I am doing a complete teardown to clean a machine i got at an auction. As i have taken off a couple of the flat metal pieces, they have been a few tiny tiny bugs. Any idea how to make sure they are gone? Has anyone ever run into this? I really don't want bugs in my house....... wonder what they are? Thanks in advance!

Are they alive and moving? I haven't come across that yet myself. I've only had dead ones or droppings in a few of mine and tried wiping them down really well.

Yes....they are alive....but super tiny. I just wiped them off with some wipes, but there are some things i hadn't planned on removing as i am afraid i will break them....they look very fragile....

If they weren't moving, i wouldn't even see them they are so small... i am assuming dust mite or something.

I can't think of what they would be. To bad its not January. I would wrap them up it plastic and leave them outside for a week. But the cold still doesn't kill everything. Hopefully someone has had something like this issue that can help. I wish you the best with it.

I'm itching for a road trip, missing MN lately!

I have a feeling the whole machine will be sealed in a garbage bag and will wait in the garage for the cold to start. Bitter mn cold kills almost everything....it is better than nothing, and better than unknown bugs in my house!

As what was mentioned previously.. bag the machine and seal it.. If your not concerned about heat. leave the machine in an area of direct sunlight for a few days... that should get hot enough to kill whatever is in it.

if its getting full sun and in a black sealed bag that may do it.

I would shoot a little bug spray in before sealing the bag

Your relying on the sun to bake the insides.. in direct sunlight its similar to the inside of a car with the windows up.

I have used this method in the past to sweat cosmoline out of C&R rifle stocks in the winters in PA and it works..
