    Default Need Help or Advice

    All,
I have a Nishijin Model C (I have been told)
The machine contains a solenoid, resistor and circuit board.
    So here's my problem

    The circuit board is broken
Does the solenoid work ...who knows?
    Resistor also.

How do I find these parts or a way around them.
    Are they required? Don't know.
Presently I can't figure how to power it up to test.

Attached are photos. Hope those help

Any direction will be most appreciated.

    first off

    Welcome to Pachitalk

second your machine will work with the broken parts.. but being able to get that board repaired / replaced will make the game play much neater.. the pictures you posted are small so its har to tell.. if it were mine i wouold search out an old school tv repair guy or electronic teacher and see if they can help ya repair your board.. other memebers have sent parts out to companys and them them replicate the parts..

    neat machine

yes it is a model "C" machine.. and posre should be provided to the upper right corner of your machine.. your fist pic is cropped off so we cant see the upper right but there should be a power point there

    Welcome to pachitalk. :-)

On my computer, the pictures are extra tiny... Hard to say what you got there.

The circuit board looks like it is missing half the board. I wouldn't plug that in.

The solenoid would have moved something on the playfield, opened a gate, opened a tulip, something.
You could use a RC servo to move the same thing.
The solenoid would have been 24VDC, the board was probably a bridge rectifier made with diodes and a capacitor.
If you remove the solenoid from the circuit, you could test it with a 24V DC power supply.

    Better pictures would help me.

Send member MrAL a private message, he may have worked on a machine like yours, I'm not sure. He's a smart guy regardless and may be able to assist you.

Try moving the solenoid by hand, this will open and close whatever it is attached to.

Default Need Help or Advice on my pachinko machine

I have a Nishijin Model C from 1977. I have been told by others knowledgeable on the machines.

Mine has a solenoid, resistor and a circuit board. Check out the photos.

These are the parts I'm seeking.
Does anyone have a suggestion on where to find them or a replacement system ?

I have tried to power it up with a 9 volt battery but no luck there either and it may be due to these pieces not being connected. I have no idea.

any help will be greatly appreciated.

9 volts will only run the lights. The circuit board and solenoid will need 24 volts...like the transformer Mopar Linked.

I assume its ok to use a 25 volt 2 amp transformer without blowing something?
and thank you for the advice.

Hard to tell without seeing the power/fuse box. Powerflash has 2 10v screws and a wire that looks like a lamp cord for 24v. I have a 3 STAR machine with 4 power screws...2 for 10v, 2 for 24v. Powering up the 10v should be safe...24 v ???

I feel your pain. My laptop crashed, and surfing is now done on a tablet. Can't figure out one device, very difficult on the other. As you can see, I posted twice just trying!
Are you doing the same things as before? Have you changed settings on your camera? I can't help much...otherwise I would have posted pics above.
When you can, some closer pics of the circuit board would be nice. Also some pics of what the linkage attached to the solenoid goes to.
It is probably safe to attach the 24v power supply directly to the terminals of the solenoid. Just tap the final connection to the terminal...in case it sparks instead of working! Of course an inline fuse would be safer.

You really need DC not AC.
The Power Flash and other machines have a bridge rectifier built in.

The 25.2 transformer is AC; but the voltage is ok.

every machine i have seen and worked on have bridge rectifiers build in... of course there is nothing saying they ahve not been burnt or removed...
