Lightbulb Pachislos raise money for a cause

Well, it's been awhile since I was on the forum, but last night was a benefit party for cancer, thrown by a few friends of mine, and I decided to do what I could to help. I donated Yeti and Lucky Cats to be raffled off, at a dollar per ticket. These were the "grand prizes" offered, and there was quite a bit of interest in them. The raffle turned into a great success, and it turns out, one of the winners was a COP, who had NO idea that you couldn't make these into quarter machines!
Anyhow, it's a great feeling to have been part of such a successful fundraiser!

Congrats on the fund raiser. Donating those machine was mighty nice of you. Now for the cop, what was he doing buying a machine he thought could be used with quarters?

Should have offered the cop $100 for the both of them.... he seemed disappointed anyways....

There are a couple of good links to convert the coin mechs to quarters. I prefer tokens as the hoppers don't always deal with quarters. I converted my Vegas ones to tokens although the bill validators are still there.

Hello! I see this is a bit of an old post but thought it would be a good place to ask a few questions about fundraising with these machines. I would think this would be all legal action too?

I was thinking I could "rent" mine out (donate it for a few hours) at a few events I participate in. (So a raffle is not an option) I was wondering if anyone had any legal ideas on how I could use my pachislo at these events? If you have an idea or have actually done something like this with yours post it here!

Im thinking: set it up, sell tokens or spins and if the players win - give them a prize. Thing with this is we want to get the players on and off the machine. So a 777 win would take up to much time, just to win 'a prize'.

I also thought about putting in a one of a kind token in the hopper and whoever gets it out will get a prize, but then that would consist of searching your winning tokens..........

    Any ideas from the gang?

I think you might have some trouble if you "sold" tokens, especially with these machines that might push the line of gambling.

Check with local officials sometimes a permit can be obtained for special events like this.

do it like chuckie cheese, buy food, get free tokens to play, win bonus round get a free small gift.

put price tags on machines and give the charity a percentage if the machine sells.

Ahh Buy/Sell something (get free tokens along with it) and get a chance to win a gift. Ok. Thanks LD! Since I only have this one machine we wont be selling it (its mine ) I was also thinking of putting it on setting 1 and having any of the other 3 of a kinds that come up be winners since the bonus rounds take long to play and this is a KOKP we talking bells and oranges. I can get people on and off it quick.

    Keep em comin!
