Question "Battle Counter" - Generic, or specific? Sources?

    Hey all,

I see in Japan nearly ALL machines have a "battle counter" separate from the machine above it. I guess this is not 100% needed for home use, but can be added.

My question is... are these "machine specific" or are they "generic"? Does every modern pachinko have a "battle counter connection terminal" somewhere on it? Do I need specific ones for specific machines?

I see these on AKIMONO who I know is a trusted seller for $149... http://akimono.herokuapp.com/products/245

I wonder if other vendors sell different versions... or styles... or sizes?

How can I learn a lot more about battle counters?

Pretty generic, what ever colour and shape you like. The old ones are pretty basic, but the new ones are really funky. just different between pachinko and pachislo. As far as I'm aware, most most moderns made over the past 5 years swapped from special connectors to spring type speaker connectors. With about 8-10 pairs of outputs, some times colour coded. although the data counter really only needs 3 pairs. Others start having door open contacts and other parlour outputs. In the parlours most modern counters are linked in series with all the rest in the row, so when you hit a fever. The whole row lights up and triggers beacons at each end. One for the fancy ligt show and two to grab the attendants attention so they know to bring over a new empty ball tray.

As to where to get them. Unless you import yourself, it's what ever the supplies have.
Rich pickings in Japan from closed and refurbished parlours. With large fancy touch screen technology.

So can you provide me with any links to reputable sites, dealers or members here with different variations of battle counters that you would recommend?

as for who to buy from, you will need a deputy service to buy on your behalf.

    I order mine thru fromjapan.co.jp.

just make sure you get one for pachinko use (パチンコ用), not pachislo.

link w/search for "pachinko use lamp" http://www.fromjapan.co.jp/s/search/...ion_id=#!mikan

also to be aware of is that some pachinko brands have different input types - and while the counters usually have separate sets of connections for the different types, plugging in the wrong one - like I did by moving a counter from a Sankyo to a Fuji machine - will blow up the counter. Yes... there was a small explosion.

If you order via fromjapan, the seller will likely ask (thru the service) what machine you will plug it into. Then they will usually set it up for you and send along a sheet labeling the connections.

I see! Well... that is a (little) closer than I was. I just want to make sure it will work on a 2013 Sanyko machine... hrmmm... some of those look pretty awesome.

Yup... should. I have one hooked onto each of my 2013 and 2014 Sankyo machines.
