After watching the video, I'm still guessing that whatever is sensing where the first reel is, is not working. Which won't allow the first stop button to work.

The machine won't let you stop the reel if it doesn't know where the reel is.

Ok, I'll complete what you suggested and see what happens. First I'm going to plug in reel number 2 in reel ones spot and see if it does the same thing. If that reel stops, then I'll know it's something in the step motor in reel one.
It's strange,..I'll reset the machine all the reels are stopped, then I'll insert a coin, and this is when I can't get that first reel to stop. Also, the first reel spins then stops for a second then starts again as you can see in the video. Again thank you for all your responses Wayne-Ooo. It helped me out a lot since I'm a newbie to slot machine and the mechanics behind them.

Does anyone have one of these machines that could also shed some light on how the reels sense where they are? Is the sensor inside the step motor?
