Pachinko beginner CR Sea Story 3R error codes

Hi i am new to the forum and to pachinko.
I happened to acquire 2 x CR Sea Story 3R (1999) god bless Google translate, the machines are not working.
After browsing this forum and the web for info i am still in the dark with this machine.

When the machine is turned on the lucky light displays top left corner and blinks continuously.
Also on the back is a display panel which cycles through numbers 0,1,2,4 then repeats.

If i fill the machine with balls the 4 will disappear.
I am wondering if the numbers relate to the machines sensors.
Is there an easy way to test them?
Is it possible the main PCB is defective and if so can it be repaired?

I have been looking for a manual to no avail :-(

I would be appreciate any ideas.

It sounds odd for both machines to not be working, is it the same error(s) on both?

I would start by double checking you have set them up correctly, and that there are balls in the rear hoppers

Perhaps you could explain exactly what is or is not happening with your machines, for example are they powering up? maybe they are catching up on payouts? any details you can give will help the members give the best advice to you and hopefully help you get these pachis working

Hi hI ave been to the research center it helped me to get an understanding of the games workings ;-)

Yes balls in hoppers. one machine has 2 bad boards, so i just swap the working ones (hopefully working) into the other machine and it produces the same error.

As soon as the power top right button is switched the error with light and number code displays 0,1,2,4 and repeats.
The machine doesn't initialize or make any sounds no other light flashes or turns on. No picture on the display.
I understand these need swipe unit or such? I don't have one and will be willing to get around it with quick solder if this is causing the issue.

You shouldn't need any swipe or credit units just a basic dongle plugged into the 25pin d connector, all that will do is enable the shooter.

Does the shooter work at the moment?

Do you have the correct transformer and at the right rating For this you will want one at least rated at 5A (24vac)
Check the output from the transformer and confirm you have 24 vac.
Trace the wiring from the transformer to the main psu board and check any fuses that are located there. its also worth while checking that there is power going to one side of the fuse. If you can do that in a safe manner.

Somewhere you will have a few cables that connect the frame to the cel, check them.

You might find that some bright spark connected them without a transformer and blew the main psu.

With the back full of balls, open the front and drop in a ball into one of the pockets. Does it payout, or make any noises or flashing lights.

I just fixed my sea story, But I just brought a replacement cel/playing field complete from Japan and had it shipped to me.

Hi I have tested the transformer and the 24 voltage jumps all over the place when using voltmeter.
I will find a replacement tomorrow and see how it goes from there.

It's also worth checking the transformer output with the machine switched off or disconnected from the transformer. Oh and make sure the voltmeter is set to read vac

Hi I have tested the transformer and works ok faulty voltmeter had wrong readings. Used one at work all ok.

Looks like faulty board sits on the LCD has burnt tracks and some faulty looking chips. Some caps look like leaking from bottom

Short of finding a replacement board or cel, there is not much you can do.

Hi a update looks like mouse pee is the culprit for the track damage.

I have found someone who will test chips and rerun new tracks.

Will let you know how it turns out, he says they have repaired game boards in bulk amounts
