Default Completed Restoration 1962 Tokai Busan Single Shot

    Forum Members:

I wanted to post a few photos of the completed (for me) restoration of my Tokai Busan single shot machine. (I saw a link on vintage machines on the site and there is a very similar looking 1962 Daichi pictured, so I figured it must be the same year.) I purchased this on Ebay in December. I cleaned the playing field, removed and washed the plastic parts, re-chromed and/or polished the metal/chrome parts, fixed the wiring, added a simple 9V battery set-up, and had the spinners re-painted and a custom ball tray fabricated by Bill Cardwell (Many thanks!). I purchased a cabinet, put a new finish on, made a few minor modifications while installing the machine and - presto! It's fully operational, compact, and easy to use. I'm going to get a second layer of glass/plexiglass this week (just to cover up some residual corrosion on the inside, but that's pretty much it. I know it doesn't have a new playing field - that looked like too big a job and I was looking to maintain some of the original patina. Anyway, I currently have it in my dining room (believe it or not, my wife actually likes its appearance). I've got three other cabinets being made here in Mexico (where I currently live/work) and should have them ready on Monday. I have three other, 1970s vintage machines that are also ready for cabinets. I'll post those when I've completed that work.

Overall, I'm very pleased and wanted to thank those connected to the forum for direction and support.

PS: If anyone has a real vintage (pre-1960) machine they are considering selling in the future, please let me know.
