I got myself an Apple Itunes Japan account and downloaded the sammy app for slots for free.

I've been trying to get it to work with my Toheart2 machine, But its doesn't like it, I scan the bar code and try to register.

Although my phone has a wifi signal and 4G reception, It always flashes up, Unable to communicate.

I guess this app has something in the programming that means it only works in Japan. With location services switched off, it still doesn't work. There are some work arounds as to fooling the gprs and wifi signals into think you are in a different location but I don't fancy trying to jailbreak the phone just to get this app to work. It might be easier for someone with a android phone to give it a go. if some one downloads the app, I can send them a picture of the QR code and see if thats a way to get around it. I'd rather by a cheap android tablet than hack my iphone At least I can also use the tablet for work

If we have anyone willing drop me a line, As this will benefit all us owners of newer slots that use this or other systems in the future.

well, I created a Japanese user for gmail and google play, and I still can't download the app.

Its still complaining that I am in the wrong country. Maybe it is looking at my IP address? I can download other Japanese apps though.

Oh well. Thanks for trying. even if you download it, there is no confirmation you would be able to use it. I guess this is one function of newer machines we will not be able to access.

Using the previous scanned barcode and using a VPN app called cloak I have managed to access the system and create a user account on the iphone. The app basically connects to a server in Japan, that then uses its ip address instead of mine (Well thats the easiest way to explain it)
Although I am using a 30 day free trail versioni of cloak just to see if it works. If its worth then paying a monthly subcription to use the service, Probably not for one app, I did try another service that said to give 500MB free each month but I was still getting the comms error using that one

It's too bad the app is geofenced. I've been thinking of getting proXPN to use the BBC iplayer but the BBC has been pretty good about making DW shows available on iTunes. I may still sign up to avoid artificial barriers.
