    Default 1975 Nishijin Shiroi-Kamome

I just got this machine with approx 50 balls, I'm not sure if the balls are the correct size cause they get stuck in the first turn and when entering the play field. I have cleaned the rail without success. Any help would be appreciated. I also plan on restoring this machine and adding a 12V power supply.

Thank you for the reply, the balls that I have are not engraved. I will measure them today, I would guess that they are slightly oversized. Looks like I will have to get original ones. I will post pictures this evening.

Just some additional unsolicited information! 1000 pachinko balls is a good number for a Model B. The name in your post's subject is a Model B.

If you have any that are rusted or really dark, just recycle them. Using them will just cause more grief.

Attached is a picture of the machine, I paid $85 for it, overpaid? The balls that came with it are way too big. Does anyone know where I could get some balls for it in Canada? Or is ebay the best source?

picture of the back would be great as well

balls from da-bay are probably your best bet ( more is less.. if ya get to many you can resell them to your fellow great white northers)

Looks like all the parts are there except one dust cover (that is not required) at the see saw area.
Member Cardwii sells a nice replacement if you want to get one.

I don't think you overpaid for Canada but there are other members from Canada. It's not a terrible price in the states either. Are you trying to resell it or keeping it?

The water stains are not too bad and it has the lower ramp feed cover!

I was told that it does work so I wanted to restore it and then try it. It is a cool machine and would be a nice piece for the rec room. I will contact cardwii for the cover, I would like to have it complete. Is there anything that can be done to remove the water stains rather than replace the field?

Not really any good way; short of replacing the play field. Member Mr. Toad recently completed a play field replacement; maybe he can shed some light on how difficult it is for the first time.

Your machine's water stains are not really that bad in the picture. Some people think of it as a "patina" and think it adds character. Definitely makes it look older.

Thanks for the replies. I will probably leave it as is, as you said it isn't that bad. I think overall themachine is in very good condition just needs some cleaning and a bit of TLC.

    again thanks

    to Pachitalk!

You have an Early 1975 Nishijin Model B (Crab)

I can't remember his name but I know there was a Canadian member who imported a ton of balls a few months back.

    100 machines and counting...

I've had my best dealings buying balls from Golden State Traders, although there may at any given time be better deals, and they generally have ads on eBay.

I'm close to the U.S. border and have a P.O. box in Point Roberts, Washington. If you are close to the U.S. border and can get them shipped to a friend, U.S. P.O. box, etc. then that's the cheapest way to get them as bringing items into Canada from the U.S. has never been a problem for me at the border.

Anything coming into Canada via ground service, excluding air freight as there are different rules and regulations, with a courier like FedEx, UPS, etc. will cost you dearly.

If you have to ship into Canada from the U.S. then the preferable method is U.S.P.S. You can check the shipping rates to Canada on most eBay ads, providing they will ship out of the country, or e-mail the seller to see if they'll make an adjustment on cost to offset shipping.

    Whitedawg,

I do live close to the borderif I can get a PO boxit would certainly make it cheaper. I will look into this, thanks for the tip.

Carl W, I think I will just clean up the machine and secure the box as it is slightly wobbly

I am almost finished cleaning/repairing the pachinko but I do have some issues. As I too the machine apart I found a lot of oversized balls and some pachinko balls, now that it is all back together the issues that I am having are:

    1. The JPS stays down all the time, this I only took apart to get 2stuck balls out. I am not sure why the lrock mechanism is not working. I have attached a pic.

    2. The ball launcher does not have enough force to make the ball go into play field instead it hits the glass everytime. I have tried to move the spring bracket in order to give me spring force but no success.

Hopefully someone has had this before and can steer me in the right direction. I qm excited to try this out.uploadfromtaptalk1406055055287.jpg

ummmmm the two balls that are stuck inside the jackpot see saw are supposed to be there... they are shifting weights and counter weights... and to be honest im not ever sure they are real pachinko balls.. might be bearings

It looks like the metal piece on the bottom of the jackpot see saw is missing as well. It is a very common part and not difficult to find for the Model B.
Just get another see saw and leave the balls inside of it; they are just pachinko balls, in the Model B.

The launcher? Does it move freely? If it is very stiff, you need to take it apart and clean / oil the bearings. I don't exactly understand the ball "hits the glass."

Welcome to pachitalk! There are 2 channels for the glass to slide into. Make sure the glass is in the one closest to the playfield.
