Juno is a good guy. Shipping through FromJapan has been cheaper to the US, though. About $250 a machine, by Fedex. Usually takes less than a week.

I've been trying to get into the auction sites and look for a Star Wars Pachislo to add to my collection. The best results is this site...

    http://itemsearch.fromjapan.co.jp/se...opping_yahoo=1

The problem is that some of the items available don't have price tags associated with them? I learned long ago that nothing in this world is free, are these auction items perhaps with no bids?

All the items that came up in that search were listed on amazon.co.jp. I clicked on a couple that had no price displayed and they were listed as Out of Stock. I have seen a number of the Star Wars machines pop up on eBay in the last few months and I also saw one on my local craigslist. Keep your eyes open and you may get lucky and avoid international shipping.

You can try this search on YAJ: http://auctions.search.yahoo.co.jp/s...cat=2084046936
It will give you all pachinko (パチンコ) and pachislo (パチスロ) related Star Wars~y items When you find something of interest just copy the auction number (most often something like this: u72224729) to FJ for bidding.

    Hppy hunting

I've seen them on feebay as well, but when they are listed at $900- it doesn't help much.

Thanks for the help everyone! Couple newbie questions:
    - If i want to bid on an auction through FJ how much money do I need to deposit into an account? Is it a percentage of the auction price?
    - I've read international shipping from Japan to USA runs 300-400 correct?
    - How much is shipping a Pachinko within the USA if I do find an ebay auction that's not too overpriced?
    - Lastley, does anyknow know the current market prices for SW Pachislo and Pachinko machines? (yes, I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but if I had an idea of what these ususally sell for then I won't pass up a good deal if I see on early on in my searching).

    Thanks again!

A Star Wars pachinko weighs in at just less than 30kgs. So shipping will be a little cheaper. FJ do have a price calculator, if you know the approx size and weight. It's a handy tool. I would put in a size of 30kg Size 90 x 40x 60 for a pachinko and 45kg 90 x 60 x 60 for a slo.

Deposit is Max bid price plus internal shipping (I always put 3000 yen but it is cheaper) plus fee.
If in doubt, ask them or post a link here, so someone can have a look at it. The chances of someone here bidding against you is slim to none.

You only have to deposit max bid + the commission (200 yen) but it's always good to take the 5% fee in account too. Works like this:
    Max bid: 10,000 yen
    Commission: 200 yen
    Fee: (10,000 + 200) * 1,05 = 10,710 yen

Domestic shipping is quoted in charge 2

This is what I like about FJ

Say someone was to by a fairly heavy item say weighing in at 29KG with all the packaging, with a box size of 70x50x40 cm with an intial cost of 3400 yen plus 2000 yen domestic delivery.

    fj.jpg

Then take a closer look at the international delivery charges.

    fj1.jpg

Right at the top is EMS at approx $345
Then the cheapest way is surface with the 2 month wait without tracking or insurance is approx $113.
But Fedex Economy is approx $128. So for an extra $15 you get it fully insured and delivered in about a week.

I've no idea what such a boxy heavy item might be

This probably will not affect our US friends due to their higher level of import duty. But I have something stuck in customs as shipped by FedEx because of the low value it was purchased at.
I know Tomscottvicky had the same problem with a Pachislo that was sent over. That how come something weighing 36kg only cost £6 ($9) to buy.

    Email said this.

please can you provide a copy of the receipt due to the weight of the goods we can not accept this value
    FedEx Express
    Endeavour House

So far I have forwarded them the original auction url, plus the invoice which shows a breakdown of charges, plus the deposit and charge information, also the confirmation of winning the auction. All they have to do is open the darn thing and see it matches the auction site info Let's hope they sort if out quickly

I just received a 61 pound shipment via FedEx Economy to California for a little less than 32,000 yen. It arrived in 4 or 5 days. That included domestic delivery, international shipping, insurance, double boxed extra secure packing, and all the bells and whistles. Fast, easy, and hassle free.

Have on on the way right now as well... Cripes... the dollar is strong against the yen right now. 1$=125¥ (actual xchange rate for txn was 120¥/$
    So machine (eva9) no-ball set = $140
Super fancy data counter = $80
Shipping ~$150 (good thing fedex doesn't go by dollars there)
    in-japan shipping ~$40
double packing, insurance, yadda yadda, FJ fees... about another $100?

after usage fees, xborder fees, etc - $475 shipped for an eva9, battle counter. Less than l paid for my Eva 7 from a US distributor.

And yes - a full review of the machine will be posted when I get it...
