I suppose a frame doesn't get more specific than that! Will be interested in the review!

That's a nice machine. Probably looks good even powered off.

I'm giving FJ a try as well. Just purchased a couple of counters through them. Using PayPal to deposit, the biding is as fast as you can click. It took me longer to figure out how much to deposit. I'll do a post with all the fees once I get them.

This is what I bought. The seller had two.

I actually had seller auc-exf bookmarked for a while. Now that I can impulse buy I did using FJ. These purchases seem to require a human in the loop.
I wonder what will happen if I put the Ayu cel in an X Japan frame.

Now don't blame me... I'm already busy blaming me...

Looks like its a standard V-trigger cell... and the X-Japan frame is just a regular gold V-trigger frame. Don't think it's modified like the Eva V-trigger frames... and this would work even on those (albeit with some "minor issues"). So I would expect this to work fine without any issues.

    Enjoy!

I apologize, I didn't write down the weight and dimensions when I was checking out. Should have grabbed a screen shot. I chose EMS for shipping since it was just a cell.
If I can't find the info myself I'll email FJ for the info.
I'll be ordering a GitS very soon. That will defiantly be via FedEx. I'll collect details for you and post them.
I live out in the sticks of West Texas. I wouldn't be surprised if our costs were similar.

Just got the "it shipped" email for the Evangelion 8 pachi. Total shipping to California Fedex for that (double boxed - with transformer and 1000 balls) was about the same as your EMS charge for cell alone. Hallelujah! It will be here on Wednesday and the total damages - about $405!
If it makes it here in one piece... and the claims from the Rakuten seller about how well cleaned and restored its supposed to be hold true... well, I may have a hard time spending the same amount for a pachi shipped from the East coast.
    Woof!

Usually don't get a separate import duty charge here. Think it's handled by Fedex? At any rate, never had to pony extra dough up before... with any shipment from any country.

I think the customs allowances are quite a bit higher in the States than they are over here. I think if the declared value of imported goods are under $200 then there's no duties or taxes to pay. As most pachinko/pachislo stuff from Japan is usually cheaper than this (before you take shipping into account), it'll get through customs without any charges. I'm not sure about the sales tax rules for imports, but I'm assuming that it won't apply.

In the UK you only have to pay import duty if the amount of duty to be paid is over 9 (~$15), and most items are low-rated for duty so you rarely have to pay import duties. But you have to pay VAT (sales tax) at 20% on all imported items if the value of the item is over 18 (~$30) or over 36 (~$60) if it's declared as a gift rather than a commercial shipment. On top of the taxes paid, the courier or delivery agent will often add a fee for clearing the item through customs and collecting the payment, which can be anything from a few pounds to around 15 extra. Due to this, quite a lot of overseas sellers who sell a lot of items to the UK will openly advertise the fact that they will put lower values on the customs declaration so that these fees can be avoided.

I think the situation in Canada is similar to the UK but the tax and duty free limits are even lower ($20 CAD/$60 for a gift), and based on the value of the shipment (so both the item and the shipping costs have to be under $20/$60). Also I believe that to qualify as a gift there has to be a card or a personal message in the package (and definitely no sales invoices!), I have had quite specific requests from customers in Canada for what to write on the customs declaration, and even included birthday cards and hand written letters in with the shipment!

That's probably why I've never been billed for anything pachi-related. Its all under $200 or so. The cost on this machine was $180. The last one was about $200. But this time its not stripped down to under 30kg for EMS - so last one with no transformer or balls and zero packing was still over $400 just for shipping...

Per FJ, we can confirm that the weight was 15.32kg.
    The dimensions were 75x59x39cm.
    Via EMS

Do you dare run those figures through their price calculator using FedEx. It might have interesting results.

Looks like the difference is about 8,000 yen.
I'm OK with that. The packages I get from the Postal Service are usually in pristine condition. Even all the way from China. UPS is the worst with FedEx being only a little better. It's just the cost of where I live.
