Default Sankyo 4 birds / peacock shooting lever question

Morning! first of all thank you for all the feedback on this forum. I bought an old Sankyo to restore, took pictures of all parts and ready to clean and get the first problem.

I noticed my wires and bulbs are gone, so Ill have to replace that. Im looking at what else might be gone or damaged. First I noticed that the balls pop out on the backside instead of shooting up. It did shoot up when I purchased so somethings stuck or misplaced.

I tried finding a shooting lever mechanism for an old Sankyo couldnt find one. Can anyone help if this is all correct and any feedback?

    Thanks!

thanks! that did it, I found out two things:

1 - didnt know how to open the front part, I did find a ball stuck there and a lot of dust.
2 - I noticed there are different sizes of balls. the bigger one was stuck.

The balls do go up now and come out at the front in the lower tray and at the back.

As for the picture this is what you need? Does it look ok?

    It looks ok to me.

If it is working; you are good to go... Are you having other game play problems?

Now, can you please open the front window and take a picture of just the playfield? Mostly my curiosity!

Thanks! Bought it from a guy who imported it from Japan to Holland and had it standing there for 30+ years.

I do not exactly get how the two bells work and the ball payout. I guess I need to have more of these balls then 50, so Ill buy those first.

300 will make it work for a bit... 500 is better... the machine will hold nearly 1000 total..

the first bell is for payouts to the top tray... if the top tray is full of winnings then balls are dirverted to the bottom tray where they will strik the second bell... ( the second bell will/should have a different tone when struck...)

Can you please post a picture of the back of your machine? Is there a micro switch in the low reward tray area? And a leaf switch near the see saw?

As far as the bells go, you might not have enough pachinko balls (yet) to overload the top tray.

    Thanks,

Maybe you have taken some pieces off the back for cleaning?

Otherwise, you may need some parts...

Maybe one more picture of the entire back of the machine, sorry to keep bothering you for pictures...

    See Saw 2.JPG
I'll check a similar machine for the low reward tray switch wiring. It looks OEM; but sometimes... things happen... Are you able to solder? It would be easier to remove the solder and wires from your existing switch and then to solder new wires to it.

I can solder by the way, have tools here to do so, I saw some wiring diagrams already, but mechanical is priority I think?

Agreed, mechanical is more important. There are a lot of vintage Sankyos out there, your model is a little less common. It is towards the end of the vintage era. This means there are less donor machines out there with spare parts.

First question, mechanically, is why is the jackpot lever stuck in down position (Yellow Rectangle). It should be opposite due to gravity and you don't have a jackpot ball release in the way.

Can you move the jackpot lever up and down? It might be held back by two white "L" shaped pieces called payoff locking devices (yellow oval)

    Default Missing Parts

I'm not really sure on how many of these pieces are absolutely mandatory for your machine to work.

The jackpot ball release mechanism is needed. I call it the "paper clip" but on your model it does not look like a paper clip.
    Attachment 70983

Green rectangle is lower ramp feed cover. Yours is missing

    Blue is center dust cover.

Yellow is dust cover and paper clip (jackpot ball release mechanism).

Note the jackpot lever position in this picture; there is a ball stuck in the jackpot chute and the machine is empty. The pay off locking devices are preventing the jackpot lever from dropping all the way down.

It was stuck but I wiggled it a bit and now it moves up and down. Several balls fell as well. The first L locking device seemed to made it stuck.
