Default This single shot looked good, untill...

Saw this unusual single shot on eBay. Tried to post a pic...but having problems...so here is the link: Vintage Heiwa Single Shot Pachinko Machine It Works | eBay Looked good, untill I saw the back! Someone sprayed the whole back silver! The front looks unusual, and it is a Heiwa...but cleaning off all the silver paint would be a pain! If I could win it at opening bid, plus the stated shipping...that would be the max I would be willing to pay! But the silver paint makes restoring such a pain, that I won't even bid! What a shame!

Assuming that the ball flow is impeded by the paint, this machine is likely a "pass" unless you are an expert in removing the paint. Can only imagine that the springs are painted, the chutes, the back of the payouts, etc. Hard to imagine it being functional as-is. Like I said, unless you do this kind of thing routinely, I'd say that it is a nice conversation piece for the corner of the basement. However, I'd imagine that someone here will tackle it and do a fine job. At $25, it's difficult to lose. Lots of elbow grease. Good Luck! Bigdog
I'm not addicted to Pachinkos. I can quit at any time. Did I tell you about the three machines that I have on the way?

I suggest we find out who's doing this, drag em out back, and beat hell out of em.

It is a shame someone painted the back silver. Truthfully is isn't something that looks like will be permante. It could be cleaned off (because they didn't prep right) but it will take a lot of scrubbing. I would buy the machine but no way am I willing to spend $70 all in. The most I would pay would be like $15-20.

    100 machines and counting...

I guess the seller is of the simple mindset, that if it don't look good, hit it with a coat of paint. So with that in mind, it might have been pretty rusted on the metal parts, faded and cracked on the plastic parts.

Maybe we should all email the seller with a message like this: "Dear Seller, I was going to bid upon your very rare and collectible Heiwa Lucky Ball Pachinko Machine, until I had seen that you painted over all components on the back. By doing this, you have devaluated the machine to scrap. Now, it isn't worth its weight in dirt. If you had not carelessly spray painted the back of the machine, it could have seen bids in the hundreds, possibly $325 or more. I guess some of the simplest of mistakes can be the most costly."

So if about 5 people wrote messages similar to mine or something like that, stressing the devaluation, well, the seller would get the message. Don't F with pachinko machines!

    lol
Hmmm, maybe thats a new signature.

Its all good and fun to joke, but please lets not start harassing sellers for the fun of it (Its happened before).. Sellers on ebay do join PT and have become good members in the past.. this isn't the kind of welcome message I'd want a new member to see.. PT is about fun, lets not make it about making fun of people!!

"The back of the machine has been spray painted silver WHY? I don't know,"
Looks like the seller wasn't the "artist"
"TESTED with balls added, it works! The tulips and jackpots payout, and balls fire properly. When you get a jackpot there is the typical bell when it pays out."
Also claims that it works. (in spite of all the paint)

Well I didn't win the Lucky Tomato modern from the Indiana Goodwill...but I did win this one at the opening bid of $25. There is that $52 shipping thing...but it is traveling 2500 miles from Washington state.
