Default Gaku PachiCounter kits without the small cables - $8.00 plus s&h

Yep, I can't bring myself to throw them away so I'm offering them at a reduced rate of $8.00 each. If interested please PM me your email address so I can send you a PayPal invoice. If you make requests via my email or in this thread I may not see it so please PM me. Also, I recently had knee surgery so I'm not able to rush orders out the door just yet but should be able to in a week or so. So for now, PM me and I will invoice you when ready to ship.
Thanks for your interest in the counters!

I don't have any need for one of these myself, but if anybody wants to buy one and ship it to me, I can either do the soldering for you, or track down the right connectors and cables. I think the latter is a good possibility. Unless something really off-the-wall was used, they're probably readily available.

    Browne92.
I tried to do some internet searching and it appears that everyone has their own board to cable connectors and they are non standard.

If you want me to take a close up of the board connector and wire connector, I will. If you can source the parts without one in you hands then I can help ya with a photo.

If you could go ahead and post a pic, that would be great. I am in the middle of moving and mine are packed away. There is a wonderful electronics surplus supply house here locally and they have walls of various connectors, ribbons and cables. I found a connector for one of my early moderns here.

Here are some pictures I took of the wire and the connectors.

The pieces that are missing are the two wire assemblies that are used to connect the DC power to the board, and the reset button to the board. They are keyed so they can only be inserted one way.

Here's the board side connectors below:
    IMAG0309.jpgIMAG0310.jpg

Here is the two wire assembly. Two are needed for each counter kit.
    IMAG0313.jpg

Hope this helps you source out the required connector/cable assemblies.

The kits originally provided 4 wire assemblies that split into the two 2-wire connectors and you had to peel them apart. Maybe your store sells them either individually or in bulk where they need to be "parted". However they're available, these wire assemblies are what are needed to complete the current kits.

    Hope this helps.

Yeah. I know, but browne92 thought he might be able to find a source for them so I took the pics. It's weird that in and industry such as electronics where nearly everything has a standard, ribbon cable to board assemblies seem to have none.

There are actually more of these style connectors than I thought. The key appears to be the pin spacing. If you measure the distance between the pins, center to center, I think you'll find it to be 2.5 mm or .1"

Well here's some good news, I found more of the small cables hidden in another box!! So, counters with small cables are $10 as before. For those who have placed orders for the $8 kits let me know if you want to upgrade!!

You can't turn it off with a switch. But if you don't want it you could just desolder the counter for it from the board.

if i desolder it would u need to press the button for it to start working. i am looking for it to stay on and save memory so if i turn the machine off and then back on it does not lose its memory and i dont have to press the reset button for it to work. i am looking for a long term count on the machine.

I don't think the gaku counters are capable of doing what you want. You'd end up having to basically redesign the whole board. I get what your on about and it is a feature I think would work cool.

If you haven't already looked into it, but I think a battle counter would work better. I'm not 100% sure how they work but if I'm correct they should do what you want. The people in the modern pachinko section would have more knowledge on how those work.

Also another possibility would be to do an Arduino counter. This takes a little skill to build and you'd probably have to modify the code slightly to do exactly what you want. Plans and basic code can be found here. http://pachinkoboy.com/information/pachinko-counter
