Lupin the Third III Pachislo Screen Dim and/or Inverted

So I just picked up a Lupin III Pachislo for a song. Problem was the screen is a bit iffy. It's very dim and displays what I can only describe as inverted color (what should be white is black etc.). I've looked at connections and tried to diagnose the problem on my own but have come up blank. Anyone have any idea as to what might be causing this? Is it an easy fix or should I be looking at a new screen?

Does anyone know another forum or source for information on this machine? It seems this problem is more advanced than I thought.

I would have no idea what would cause this. Might be worth checking out AV forums to see. Try an online search using basic terms like LCD screen, inverted, dim.

As with all computer screens. It's the screen, graphics card or wiring that's faulty. But how to check each one. I've no idea.

Would need to remove the screen and find the make and model. Then try to find one. I know of one guy who found a screen out of a sat nav was the right one for his machine. I do have a spare screen for a Lupin III pachinko. But it's the 21inch version.

Well I got the model number, searched online and found an exact match for a replacement! Should have it here hopefully in the next few weeks. Seems like an easy pop out and drop in replacement.

So the screen finally came in after a little under a month. Hooked it back up, and colors are still inverted.

Well there's $60 down the toilet. Any other ideas as to what is causing this issue that won't cost me another $60? Thanks.

If your sure its not the screen, it only leaves the wiring or the circuit boards. Would need to check condition of wiring, including doing a continuity check on the ribbon cable to the screen,

Not really a pachislo person, so I'm not really familiar with how they're put together.

The original picture looks like a missing data line between the LCD driver/GPU and the LCD panel. Usually this would be a problem with the LCD panel itself, but you've already ruled this out.

Might be a problem with the connection between the LCD screen and it's driver circuit board (I'd need to know the model number for the LCD panel and find a datasheet for it to tell me what the electrical connections are, before I could let you know if it's likely to be a connection), but most likely to be a memory fault on the LCD driver circuit board.

Hmmm well I'm no LCD screen expert either. I'll see what I can do. Anyone else have any other ideas?

It seems this problem has stumped folks. So sadly I'll have to sell it as I don't want to give it as a birthday gift in this state. Wish I could have got it fixed but so is life.

Not to beat a dead horse, especially on a first post, but pretty much went through the same thing he did- (new screen...bbb, etc).-> I'm pretty determined that it is the graphics "Driver" board that is causing the problem. I pulled it out of the plastic case, re-seated the roms (2) and both ribbons tone out good, but getting the missing cmyk on the screen (chroma?). Something is definitely awry on the graphics board directly behind the screen. Kind of impossible to recap this thing as the connections are so small, it almost looks like it was printed. SO- it's a Heiwa Bros game...is anything else compatible/wise with this? I've tried emailing several debunked websites that say they have parts for these, but no reply. Anyone???

So, it is def the graphic board. I can't get this detailed with this board...these things are pretty much throw-aways. Sad part about it is that someone...somewhere...has severeral hundred of these brand new. UUUUgh
