    Default Speaker noise

I just got in a Wan touchable from Stealth. Vary clean good looking machine! Only thing is the speaker on the bottom by the pay out tray. It is vary loud with stat icy noise. Even when you are playing the machine you can here it. When it is just sitting there on louder than any machine I have ever had. It is a Sammy. Anyone have one? is yours noisy with static too? Is this a Sammy machine thing? This is my first Sammy machine. Any info before I call and say something to Milt at stealth?

Radio shackvolume controls almost alwyas reduce it to nothing. I had a Speed Racer with horrid speaker noise and put on two volume controls. After getting them installed and turned down, the squeal was gone and the machine wasd at perfect volume!

All the machines I purchased from Stealth had volume controls installed already. With the Betty Boop I easily found the controls for the top speakers but the bottom speaker was causing a squeal and was extremely loud - then I realized there must be another control and sure enough it was on the bottom of the door. Maybe this is a stupid question but did you look for the control on the bottom of the door?

Sometimes when you get this transformer noise its induced from the oversized transformers and as suggested you can lower the volume using volume controls this does not eliminate it, just tones it down to an acceptable (unautitable level).

There are two fixes. The first is ugly. Isolate the transfomer. Possibly move its location further from the electronics and shield it using 1/4" fiber board.... for me this is too much messing around.

The second is to wire a capacitor across the leads of the speaker. This works the same way as cross over does in a subwoofer. It takes the inductive humm out of the frequency range.

My Wantouchable in my game room has no hum, and the one other in stock room doesn't ether. I must be hard of hearing.
