    Default My First Pachinko/Nishijin B

I picked up a pachinko machine at Goodwill last week. I got it home, did some research, a determined it was a model B. Im currently breaking it down to clean it and refinish it. I only have the shooter handle (correct term?) left to take off to be able to sand and refinish the front. Im having trouble, as I cant find out if the arm on the inside is pressed onto the shaft of the handle, or it screws on. The square hole would seem to me to indicate pressed, but I dont want to force it to get it off. I've been taking everything apart and putting it in baggies and labeled. Any direction on how to get the arm off would be appreciated.

It's pressed on, but it's also very tightly pressed on. You may need to use some force to get it removed. I think I ended up wiggling it a lot that by the time I got the necessary wrench to get behind it, it ended up popping off.

Someone may have mentioned a couple taps with a hammer might help, but I never got to that point.

Thanks for the info. I think im going to try to find something like a steering wheel puller for it. I tried a couple of taps yesterday, but no go. The nut between the arm and the handle is rusted.

Thx for the info! It was definetly harder than that. I wound up using a steering wheel puller and some 9 gauge galvanized wire to get that sucker off.

Ok, I've gotten everthing back together now. When I started testing it, it was like the shooter wasnt pushing the balls up far enough. I had the spring moved to the setting with the most tension. I guess I will drill a couple more holes in the adjuster for the spring. Up next, wiring, lighting and Cabinet!.

There is a plastic part that is pivoted by a wire attached to the shooting handle. The plastic part can be adjusted up slightly to push the ball up further. If that is not enough adjustment; the plastic rectangle on the back of the shooting tray door can be adjusted down. Good luck and great work!

It was a combination of a loose screw on the bottom of the front shooter arm, and the rotary being tightened too much. It was pulling the arm to where the spring on the end would not pass through the slot in the ball track. It was hitting the side of the slot and not the ball itself.
