Kicked out of the eBay business!!!!!!

For the last 5 weeks, I have been selling laptops on ebay. My father from IN., A cousin of mine from AZ. and my aunt from CA have all bid and won. Its bussiness. Although I didn't win, I bid on a printer from one of my other aunts who is from KY. All of the bidding going on was legit and not trying to raise the price to be butt munches or anything. My father, cousin, and aunt have been suspended for something called shill bidding. And I recieved an email today stating I have been banned for supporting shill bidding!!!!!!!!!! So, what in the *censored* am I gonna do with a shipment of laptops that are on their way to me to sell on ebay?????????????? are there any other online auction sites similar to ebay?????????? This is moreless my bread and butter and got over 10,000 wraped up in merchandise that I dunno what to do with????????????

Id contact ebay using the chat feature..maybe they can help you out. Id provide them with all the payment info showing you were not shill bidding!

I can see why Ebay reacted the way they did. Family bidding is a bit suspect.

BUT I can't find anything on Ebay that says your family can't bid on your auctions. Maybe I am not looking in the right places but it sure seems you should be able to get them on this.

THAT would be the key evidence. Without proof of payment, you might have a hard time. Unless you've got that proof, you're up a tree, IMHO.

Shill bidding must have been reported by someone losing one of your auctions, and started watching your activity VERY closely. When they saw "buddies" bidding on each other's things, they obviously reported it.

Yep, LP is right. Someone is watching you. It's really never a good idea to sell to family members on ebay. Why wouldn't you just sell to them direct or buy that way? I can't say I understand why your family would be selling to each other though eBay anyway.

Let me get this right -- you sell to your own family via eBay so eBay gets paid a cut on the sale amounts? Not only that, but this happens with various relatives over and over again. EBay would naturally be suspicious of such activity. I don't understand it either.

The other thing eBay will look at is any pattern of these relatives bidding on multiple auctions of yours. If they only bid on one auction and won, you might be able to make your case. If they bid on a most of your auctions, I'd say your screwed. There's no way eBay would see that as anything but shill bidding, even if they did pay for the auctions they won.

You can also sell through amazon. But if you can make another account through ebay, you should try that to.

I agree with slotter. Why would someone buy something from another family member on ebay? Does not make any sense. Seems like one would sell direct to the family member and not have to pay the fees.

Ok, guys/gals thanks for all the suggestions. THank you VERY much Davis for the link. I should be back on later today. I did some checking and about 3/4 of my past auctions had at least one relative bidding on it. I have sent a mass spam to all 39 relatives with ebay accounts stating to NOT bid on my items. If they want a particular item, Let me know and i will deal direct. Thanks again for all your help.

That's certainly what I would call an Ebay family !!

Good thing this happened tho as now you all will be talking more to each via email or that there telephone. There's nothing like a large 39 member close knit family.

I woudlnt say its BS, just people not thinking about what they are doing. I mean ive got family all across the country, and if i found a cousin sellking pachislos, i d bid on them!
