    Default advice on machines

    hey ya'll,

i am fairly new to pachislo. i have set my limit at four machines. we now currently have three of the four. my list starts at club rodeo. we then bought a hanabi hyakkei. our last purchase ( that just arrived today) was an outlaw. i am trying to be very careful in buying the next one. so we have a fourth reel, a 15'' lcd display and the 7'' lcd screen. we'd like for the next one to be a little different than the first three. while we'd love a harley davidson or a spin luck, we know we cant afford these. we were wondering if you experienced folks in this forum could help us out with a little advice on what we should get. the don don king that is currently on ebay looks tempting, but we really dont wont to fork out the $350 for that one if there is one that would be just as good or better at a more reasonable price. any words of wisdom?

You should be able to get a Don Don King for under about $129, and there have been some sold for much less than that! Don't you dare pay $350 for one.

I'm going to sound like a broken record to some of the regulars here, but I'd look at the King Camel before deciding. I also like the Don Don, but the Camel is documented here in various threads and is the hit of the seven machines I own by almost everyone who comes over. (King Camel has a unique action on the reels).
Everyone will have their favorites, so read as much on this forum you can to get their likes and dislikes. The museum is a good place to start, but use the search feature for different model names.
(The machine is also sold on ebay as a "Joe Camel" -- same machine, just mis-marked)

One other note, if you are thinking about the Don Don. That machine has a relative called Giga Fever, which some of the members here who have both or have played both, say they like better than the DDK. BigBear is selling the Giga Fever for $150 on their website.

Prices look to be falling on the Neo Magic Pulsar. One went tonight from Stealth on eBay for $125 and change. Looks like next bidder would have taken it, too.

I've heard it's a little nicer than the Neo PlanetT. I know I really like mine.

If you're looking for variety, it might be a consideration for one other "style"... with the transparent monochrome LCD. The LCD graphics mix nicely with the reel symbols, and are nice and bright as they "float" above the reels.

Even against the 15" LCD models, they still are cool.

I just thought I would add my two tokens worth. I have Giga Fever and it is a great machine. The color show that it puts on makes it worth the purchase and the game play is fun too. It teases a bit and has the addition of a stop button for the fourth reel. I have been adding several pachislos to my game room over the past few weeks (Betty Boop, Beast Sapp, Speed Racer) and the Giga Fever is my teenage son's favorite by far. With Big Bear offering it for $150, it's a great machine at a great price.

    Good Luck with your decision.

If you can't afford a Harley (who can) or a Spin Luck then consider a Dragon Dice. It will fall into the high end of what you want to pay but well worth it.

The Mephisto is a nice machine. If you can get the Dragon Dice as everyone on here has raved about it. BigBear has the Super Black Jack for $250 plus shipping, that seems like a good choice.

    Ummm let's see.
Have a ddk at the store, it's pretty when you are in a bonus, but beyond that I don't think it's all that special.
Dragon Dice- great machine! hard to find and a little pricy, but it's worth the price.
King Camel- There is no machine that plays like this one. It falls into a category all by itself. read my review here:

Considering what you have listed, The Dragon Dice or King Camel would be the way to go. Camel will be cheaper, it's a sleeper!

King Camel is indeed a very interesting machine. I think it's a must for an extensive collection - as it behaves like no other machine. That said, I found that the way it teases you and extends the amount of time it takes to complete each spin became irritating very fast. Friends that come over get a kick out of playing it, but I rarely play it myself any more.

If you're really willing to spend up to $350 there are a lot of good machines out there: Metal Slug, Super Black Jack, and Dragon Dice immediately come to mind. For a little less, you might want to consider a Hound Dog (or some other Net machine with 7-line play). People seem to like the way it lights up the possible pay lines after the second reel is stopped. And the 7-line payout is a nice feature. Every collection should have at least one Net machine.

I am probably the last experienced of all here, but my personnel favorite is the King Camel.

Second to that by very little is the Neo Magic Pulsar. Both machines are recent additions, and both are 2003 models and both are max bet only.

King Jack, 1, 2, or 3 line play, whch is an older model (I can't even find out who built it or when) is also a fun machine to play because of the occasional "you're going to win soon" LED.

The Wai Wai Pulsar (1993 model) is still fun to play but it is NOISY in that you hear relays when starting reel spin and when stopping each reel.

Temporarily, go to youtube.com and search for BudgeRahe for videos. Until I get the links set up in the museum
