Takao Samurai shooter knob

I finally get around taking my battle vixen out of the box and a major problem occurs. The shooter knob does not work at all. It might be the stop button on the knob, it does not move at all. Anyone know how to take it off. Or at least tell me how the stop button actually works, if it is a button or it moves a little up or down.

At first I thought it was the error code 7 I got. I put in a dongle from another machine, since this one did not come with one. The error went away but the knob still did not work.

Are you making contact with the metal ring on the knob? I believe it completes a ground circuit. The button stops the shooter without you moving the knob from the sweet spot. I trust that the knob turns. Beyond that...I have no clue. Most of my machines are vintage, and use a flipper that is much easier to troubleshoot.

The stop button is normally just a button you press inwards. As for how to remove it. Don't know, but on the lumina frame there is a small screw on the underside of the plastic casing leading from the back of the shooter to the front of the machine.

I know I have had a problem with the shooter knob not working when the previous seller had not cleared all of the balls out of the front of the machine, and a ball or two has wedged itself in the shooter mechanism during shipping.
