Default Saving another Pachinko from the trash can!

Bought this one on Craigslist and man...talking about dirty! I kind of feel more rewarded when I clean up a nasty machine though...odd!

Here's some pics of it now...so far I have about 5 spider nest, mouse turds (welcome to the midwest), lots of rust on the front (don't worry guys...I won't paint it!), and a broken piece on the top that holds the weight to the ball tray

Here come the Q-tips and Simply Green!

I do love the cast aluminum ball tray! That is why I bought mine! I knew it would clean up nice.sankyo with metal ball tray 008.jpgsankyo with metal ball tray 002.jpg The Sankyo badge on the door broke off when I was cleaning it. I saved it and will try to glue it on someday.

Yeah I love those aluminum trays. They always polish nicely.

That is why I merged an aluminum tray onto a Sankyo I sold off. (had a white plastic lower one originally)

    14.jpg15(2).jpg16.jpg

First pic is a light hand polish
Second pic is after polishing on the buffing wheel
Last pic is after it has a coat of clear and mounted on the machine.

(I'd clear coat them so they keep the shine. Otherwise you will be polishing the tray every month of so.)

    100 machines and counting...

I pulled all the green plastic off the back, gave it a good bath, steel wooled the front and I'm happy to say, it shinned up really nice. Going to try to polish it up again on the try since you guys showed me I could do a better job!

But the good news...it all works VERY nicely! Shoots like a semi automatic weapon...pachinko, pachinko, pachinko!!! The lights also...

So what's the story on this machine? Says "Goldfinger" on the center piece...James Bond!!!

Well, overall...it turned out nice and works great! Won't see the trash can today!
    Another one saved!

Looking at the close up of the center piece, I'm going to try to do some paint touch ups on the silver and white.

Maybe not. Look again. Says "Goldenfinger". No idea what significance that would have in Japan.

BTW, what are you, anyway? Some sort of pachinko magnet? How do you find all these machines?

Hey that's a great project machine for sure! I agree, seeing the before and after condition is such a huge reward.

I'm just trying keep up with you guys! I'll stop when I get a 106 pachinkos like Max! Mostly craigslist, but others just word of mouth. The good news is I'm also selling these to friends so I never loose sight of them, but get to visit them like kids graduating from highschool! LOL!

In my single car garage. They all fit some how... just don't ask me to get to the one at the bottom quickly... Though I think I'm reaching the end of room to store them in because it is getting pretty tight over there.

I've had a few. I have only sold 1 machine at one. And I regret doing it because the machine still had problems and would have cleaned up nicely.
