    Congrats and let's hope is something simple if repairs are needed. They're not hard to fix its just if proprietary IC's are used and/or the numbers on the chips are rubbed off. In any case you're fortunate to have a background in electronics. As for the cartridges, they're really neither here nor there. I suppose if anything they are prone to being lost since they're designed to be easily removable. Why Satomi did this on the one machine, I don't know. Could be the modular design made it easy to manufacture basically the same machine but different game play by including specific cartridges but AFAIK they only did it on one machine.
    Anyway, post some pics and your questions if any when you get it.
