Default Help with crow theme Nishijin shiroi komome machine

Here is a pretty cool looking machine, at least to me, so I would love to get it working.
The crows are down and should be up, if they are up they can get loaded with a ball the ball weight will make them go down once dump the ball and move back up,
If you look at the picture of the back you can see a lamp holder is broken, but what is missing that held the crows up...I'm guessing little weak springs?
The pegs on the sides move with the crows and could have a spring or other parts on them...
Thanks for any help or pictures of a good machine.
    Cheers,
    P.

i think its more then a simple spring... it looks broken and like something is missing..

I have not seen that center befor and being a Model "C" machine we know how hard it is to find a good one much less a twin..

good luck to ya its a neat looking center

As I typed that tired last night I was thinking to myself why would the Japanese builders use "simple" springs when some rube goldberg contraption would do the job in a much more complicated way, lol, I agree with you something more elaborate is missing,
But the machine works well and is rather clean so it might be small weak springs, for a while anyway...

Guess after all these years im bumping this, a lot of life was going on and passing by but i was putzing with a few of my machines,
My OCD still would very much like to see what the back of this machine looked like originally
It appears there was a light behind the center them and like i said way back a weak spring or little weights with get the crows to teeter totter as they should
    thanks
    cheers

I have many machines, but not that one, which I think is pretty neat.

From my experience, the designers of these used counter weights, or levers to reset moving parts. I don't have a machine that uses springs to return center attraction parts.

I would start with disassembly and cleaning and see where that gets you.

Of course, as I said, I don't have one of these, so maybe it does use springs...

I too have a lot of machines but only one like this
While i know i can get the crows working, they are in ball dump position at the moment so a weak spring or weights will fix that , my OCD
Wonders how it orginally was designed, perhaps it was levers that one crow would be up while the other is down
