Default Vintage Nishijin B - interesting feature?

Saw this earlier on le Bay... It looks pretty standard, except for whatever that is on the upper right / right side. Never seen that before. Anyone have any information on what it is? RARE Nishijin Pachinko Sophia B Manual Instructions Balls Perfect Collectors | eBay

That is a Rolling Stone model. When you get a ball in the center pocket, the big C in the upper right opens up. The next ball in the C drops on top of the medal/ribbon and rides it down the right side. The ball drops out the back for a jackpot and the counter weighted medal slides back up to the top. The big C then closes back up for the next round as the ball does through the back. It's a neat feature.

Looks like just the decorative lens with the center part missing. There's what looks like a nail hole on the cel where the part went

The hole in the center of the slide is where the ball drops into the rear for a jackpot, so nothing missing there.

Normally, I would consider it a tad high for MOST vintage machines...but, this one is very clean...with NICE chrome. I have heard of the "rolling stone" model...but didn't know what that meant. I thought it was a "foul" chute that returned the foul ball to the shooter tray, like a Model C. Nice looking machine...GOOD LUCK!

What can I say - the thread was Hot! Besides Max's video, I had a Rolling Stone that I restored(not as nice as Max's, but still pretty sweet) and just sold it last week. It's a lot of fun to play for a vintage. The only hard part to the restoration was finding some smooth thread to fix the counter weighted slide. It was completely frayed and the action was terrible. Care of the better half, I found some embroidery floss and was able to unravel one strand for the string. It's very smooth and works like a champ every time.

Good Luck bidding on this one Chum! All the parts appear to be there(especially the all important track cover) as well as the rear cover plates. Nice vintage for anyone's collection.

I still could have done better looking back at that machine. Now there are things I wish I had done to it that I didn't know about then. Oh well it went to a good home and the people who bought it said they were going to put it in their game room for their grand kids to play.

    100 machines and counting...
