I saw this and thought it was unusual. 1949 Gottlieb Basketball Woodrail Pinball Machine | eBay The flippers hinge in the center. This seemed unusual to me, but may be more common than I expect. Local pickup in Washington state, but seems reasonably priced.

Various flipper arrangements were common during the wood rail period I had a Gottlieb Quartette with two pairs of flippers on the lower left and right sides. I think in the late 50's is when the flippers started to be placed at the bottom center for the most part and then this became the standard.
