Default a machine I like (but questions)

    Hello pachi talk!

My second post on this amazing website!

Looking to buy my first machine. I found that the nishijin machines from the 90's that have moving parts/animatronics are my fav, with the colors and the cool moving parts, it has a cool factor that sometimes the LCD slot ones dont have. Any how, I love this machine

Pachinko Nishijin Pinball Machine Skabo Kids Vintage Machine Fun Fun | eBay

Its 229, and i placed a lower bid (110) Because there is no balls, and its as is, plus he just said he doesnt know much about it (so I dont even know if anything is broken. (with shipping it could be a bad deal, since i work my second job just to start buying these)

So any info on this machine? I found one bad quality youtube vid, and thats all. any help with recomendations on price and if i should bid on it would help!
    thanks everyone!!

I had a skabo kids... it was a fun game... but I sold mine to a friend at a pretty big loss. He has a young one who loves his vintage pachinko and thought he'd dig a hanemono. Sold it for $70 - with balls (about 500) and it was in better shape than the one on eBay (in my opinion, at least). If I had put it up on ebay I would have started at $75 with a $200 buy it now. So this isn't totally out of the ballpark.

I had one issue with this machine, tho... it was pretty easy to land a ball in the v-zone immediately during jackpot mode, which would cut the round very short. Other times it you'd get totally skunked (punked?) and machine would go back to normal mode.

So going a full 8 rounds wasn't that easy... and getting 8 jackpots per round was rare indeed.

The yakyu feature (skateboarder in the middle) is alright, but isn't as clever as some others I've seen. Just kicks the balls around.

    That's my review...

Thank you very much! I made an offer at 110. Do you think thats a fair price? what do these machines from this age with the moving parts run for?

Its amazing! so fast after i posted a review came in, thank you!

Hmm... I'm still relatively new to this, so someone else might have a better idea what things may be worth. I guess the best rule of thumb is "its worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it" - and that particular one has been up on ebay for quite some time. I think $110 is a good price - but only if it is complete and working. Any special parts may be so hard to find that it would render the machine useless, and basically value-less (except for parts).

I'd say hang loose and wait if the offer doesn't go through. There are machines like that showing up surprisingly often lately... and you can look on the members trade board here, too.

I couldn't tell you what a true fair price of an early modern is, because I like vintage machines. I try to get my machines at $100 or less including shipping. But that is only a general rule. I have broken it many times for something "I had to have". I feel that the early moderns are worth a little more due to the electronics. Therefore the price seems reasonable, but it doesen't matter unless you LIKE IT.

Fair warning to someone who has never had one. I agree with the comment parts are almost non existant and if it does not work the odds are you will not be able to fix it or find the parts. One of the advantages of vintage is that they are almost all mechanical and easier to work on and fix. Pretty is nice but if it does not work it is only art work to hang on the wall. If you wait and check craigs list alot you might be able to find one close enough that their would be no shipping and you could play it before you pick it up. And my last two cents, packing and shipping is no guarantee it will show up in one piece. The law of averages is against it.

    Welcome to PachiTalk!

I think $110 plus shipping is at the very high end of what I would pay for that machine, if the theme reached out to me. I wouldn't worry too much about the "I don't know much about these machines" thing. Almost every seller I have come across says the same thing. You have a great resource here for problems you might run across with a machine. You will need to factor in your total cost needing to buy balls for the machine as well.

The hanemono machines are very cool. I had a Casino 2 machine that I really liked and then sold to a member. I also have a Tako Yaki machine now that I intend to sell to make room for another machine in my attic.

I would be willing to make you a good deal on this machine if it appealed to you. Here are some pictures:

I have not tested the machine yet but would be happy to go over it first, once I get a little time.

It has a very nice frame / stand.

PM me if you are interested.

Here is a video of a Tako Yaki machine in action (not mine).
