Smile Wooden feet for a SANKYO machine

Haven't posted in this forum for a while...

Here is an idea for some wooden feet.

Won't work exactly as shown for a typical NISHIJIN with the metal reinforced corners.

A lot of the machines I have seen have frames weakened by wooden or metal feet. Yes, the frame can be reinforced with glue and screws, but the basic problem is the feet stress out the bottom piece of the machine wood frame...

The feet do add a lot of stability as compared to setting the machine on a shelf or table. But I wouldn't open the front panel all the way.

    Goals:
No fasteners on bottom(s) (of wood feet) to rust or scratch surface.
Add some rigidity to take some stress off the bottom of the pachinko machine wood frame.
Lost ball tray that won't fall over, is readily available and deeper than the standard tray.

So what type of wood is that? Pine or Fir?

The thing that I see the most that kinda annoys me is people using pine for the feet. As pine is a soft wood and not very good for supporting weight. That is why I use solid maple for all my feet. Haven't had an issue with a machine at all.

Anyways you got a good idea going there.

Also where did you find that glad bin. I have been searching for bins and have never come across that one.

    100 machines and counting...

    Max,
I'm not sure what kind of wood I used. Seems like poplar to me based upon the grain. That is a good question though.
    It was definitely a hardwood.

Your objection to pine might be that it is a softwood.

Here is a link to a table, ultimate strength really depends upon the specific species...

Here are some templates. If a center shelf (and foot) is used, a 1 x 4 12" long fits the container better...
