Default Pins in wrong place on Play Field?

Ok so just cleaning up some of my new pachinko whilst I'm waiting for my balls and power supplies to arrive. You'll have to excuse some of the wording here but it seems that some of the pins are in the wrong place or there's too many.
Some pins were obviously bent as a ball couldn't physically fit through them to get to a "pocket" and they were at a slight angle, I've gently bent these back so a ball can pass through. However, for another "pocket" the surrounding pins don't look bent and a ball is nowhere close to being able to fit through. So are pins sometimes put in the wrong place during manufacture or too many pins fitted or do people occasionally add more pins to make the field easier/harder?
    Thanks all.

As 'odds' cannot be set or adjusted on Pachinko machines like they can on pachislos

They are made easier or harder to play by adjusting / tuning the 'nails' or 'pins'

In Parlours they were usually set 'tight' for less payouts, keeping it in the parlours favour. they use special tools and it's a skilled professional job i believe

but for home use, some people prefer to adjust the nails slightly by gentle bending to allow easier access to the pockets.

you can easily check the nail settings by taking a pachinko ball and manually guiding it though the pins, this will show you any areas that you may wish to 'adjust'
(you may have already checked them this way)

If you post a close up pic of your cell, perhaps the members can help

Just in case anyone wants any further reading on 'nail' or 'pin' adjusting, here's a handy link:

PachiTalk Research Center - FAQ - Pachinko - How to adjust your nails or pins - PachiTalk

I'm thinking these pages may have come from the 'Winning Pachinko' book??

The correct nail pattern includes the correct angle and pitch each nail should face. But these are in the back of the game service manual. Manuals are very rare and some fetch high money on YJA. Best is to adjust it as above till it plays as you want.
