Dead Aggressor!! - yuusshhhhnnn... it's your TIME!

Here's the initial strip down at the back once the cell has been removed.

dead aggressor cut wires at back.jpg

dead aggressor cut wires at back wide.jpg

Looks similar to the EVA, but many more plugs, and a more complex board movement.

What's immediately obvious is that the cut splices match what the EVA had - this Bonus Gate would no doubt refuse to open should a FEVER be reached.

So, I'll splice all these back the way they should be tomorrow and clean up any other I find, put it back together, and see if that annoying message will go away.

Then I'd just need to attach one of the new shooter wire set that CLAM has sent me (if it's at my PO box tomorrow), and see if it'll function.

Does it show up on the tracking number? Good luck would be a good idea to check all the wires to see if any more are tampered with or rerouted, joined or don't go anywhere. Looks like 7 alterations at the bottom of the cel and 2 further up in the middle.

Wires have arrived - thanks Clam.

OK - so one is obviously for the shooter I cannibalized from Dead Aggressor, and the other is the wire from inside the shooter back to the small control box on the EVA?

Ohh, I got Dead Aggressor working too!!

Videos and photos shortly with explanation.

    You guys have been AMAZING!!!

Now, which handle to choose to add Clam's wire... I can only choose one: EVA or Dead Agg.

I should go into the pachi repair business!

It might be worthwhile taking the dead aggressor shooter apart. You might be able to repair the wiring if it hasn't been cut to short. Then both at 100%

The beautiful Dead Aggressor cell out of its frame, the back boards with everything reconnected, the splices cut out, and the plugs all back in.

This is one of the missed Bonus chance screens... pretty funny as the character swears and laments.

Not for kids (who speak Japanese)...

Yep - Dead Aggressor's wires are intact at the shooter end, and split as before at the board end.

Dead Aggressor handle wires attached.jpg shooter wires back end splices.jpg

Easy - will put those back the right way now and report again later.

    Done - works well.

Dead Aggressor shooter plug at controller end.jpg

So I'll swap out the old plug from the EVA, and that shooter'll be working too...

Clam - I owe you a great deal of gratitude. When you pull that old Monako out of the garage, you let me know.

Wanted to share with you a tool I am employing in my workspace.

My son brought home a Father's Day present for me this year that the girls at Daycare had knocked up.
At first I thought, that's beautiful, but what will I do with a midget stool?

    stool top.jpg

And then I thought I'll try it under the door of the swung out pachis - and it fit perfectly.

For the classic moderns like Flying Carpet II, shown here, that tend to be quite unbalanced and threaten to rip themselves from their wooden bases at the slightest provocation,
    this has been a god-send.

I can get you exact dimensions if you need them - would take 20 minutes to knock up out of scrap.

Hope you liked the name on the envelope

It might be the same shooter problem as on these 2. First thing is check to make sure there are no missing leads and work back from there. I Don't have one of these frame, so might be much help on this one.

I did - PO nearly wouldn't hand it over, as they wanted to know who this 'candyflip' fella was?

Here's the last baby on the block - in startup mode. She makes a lot of noise for 30 seconds as she runs through her startup procedure, then settles down and awaits a ball entry.
Problem is, the shooter won't shoot - nothing happens when I engage it. Have swapped the dongle to 2 known good ones and neither makes a difference.

I'd love to take the shooter apart as before for the Sankyo frames, but can't find a way to remove it. Anyone know how?

See, you and DrunkenClam had these problems quivering in fear before you even started the second time. Awesome job on the repairs to both of you , I like to see this kind of stuff.

Only thing I know about removing a shooter knob is, it looks tricky. Even worse if removing self-tapping course threaded plastic screws because cross threading and eventually cracking
    the plastic is easy

Maybe the second time rule will apply here as well.

I've never even seen one of these frames in the flesh. Can you access the manual daverob posted in the door hinge thread: might be something in that about the shooter

Will have a look and see what I can find.

Beautiful frame by the way - insane amount of lighting effects it can generate.
If there was a cell for it I felt halfway keen on, I'd not move it on.
But I don't like much of Kyoraku's output after 2006 unfortunately... and 'Tanuki-chi-kun/Misora Hibari' was in the Big Bang frame, which I'm keeping instead.
