    Lightbulb Pachinko ball "charms"

Well for some reason I had this idea to try to turn a pachinko ball into a key chain or something. At first I thought I'd try to drill a hole through the center of the ball. (be the easiest way to attach it to almost anything) But then the execution didn't quite work as the balls are hardened steel so trying to drill through them is near impossible. So then another member gave me the idea of maybe making a cage to hold it. So I decided to whip on up really quick for it, and this is what I came up with.

I still haven't really decided what to do with it but I am sure I will eventually find a purpose. Just thought I'd share my freak idea.

I have a few that are painted yellow. And I know they aren't the white ones that have been yellowed by some other process.

    Neat idea

I remember a few years ago when mudfud was making earrings and necklaces with pachinko balls

and I think a few other members got involved too

    managed to find the thread

You can see they discussed drilling them and also the wire cages, and a few pics of the jewellery made, in this thread too

I was going to mention mudfud thread too..

I actually got a small drill press about 5 years ago to try to drill through some balls to try to make stuff, but I never got around to it..I'm just too lazy!!

Most of my original first batch (purchased 2006) have the coloured etched markings, mostly white, and blue, but maybe I should check them to see if any pink or yellow?

I vaguely think they may have been some red markings too??

All my pachinko balls are now thoroughly mixed up, (except for the teal coloured ones, worried the colour may flake off in my machines, so they are still bagged up)

but if I get any time, ever, I may just have to have a sort through and see what is lurking there
