Hi guys, I have just won this machine and have it home now. My first machine and it is great. The only problem i wish to change the difficulty and it looks like i need a key ( which i dont have) i have the key to get into the machine but not the reset key. Is there a way i can by-pass the key ?

remove reset lock and replace it with an on/off toggle switch

as Member luckydog says, you can replace with a toggle Switch if you have no internal key

I can't seem to find the usual 'how to' instructions we have on site

but I have found something similar that will explain (many thanks to member Wayne-Ooo)

Should be pretty easy to unscrew the casing and get teh key switch out, You should find a normal toogle switch from Maplins will fit the hole. Thake the old key switch with you to make sure. Oh safety first. Disconnect the power and remove the plug from the wall socket before opening the casing

You might find one with screw type connectors. It doesn't really matter if it doesn't fit correctly in the hole, as long as its secure.

sorry i meant soldering the wires to the new switch

Replacing the lock with a switch is pretty easy. I think Drunkenclam was mentioning that you should be able to find a switch that uses screw on connectors to attach the wires instead of soldering. Another possibility would be to try to dis-assemble the lock switch and modify it so that it can be turned with a screwdriver.

this is the type you are after if you cant solder ,but you can get automotive type that uses lucas connectors but the need a pair of crimping pliers
