Default Question about a bonus Modification

    An Auto Bonus Mod ?

Do you think there would be any interest in a mod that would pay out all the bonus tokens at once when you hit a bonus like 777?

I was thinking that it could be done in 2 different ways.
    1) Pay out all at once with no graphics and no music.

    2) Pay out the normal 15 tokens with graphics (Video) and Music but not require you to interact with the payout. (The reels would spin, stop and payout the tokens buy themselves.)
It would run until the end of the bonus and then stop paying out.

This just a thought on a possible mod. The Mod of course would be able to be disabled to restore the machine to factory operation.

I am not a big fan of modifications but I like your approach with being able to turn them on and off.

I would say its possible. Using the outputs for the battle counters to start trigger the start and stop the automated function. Then it can be by passd by breaking the signal from the BC output.

Thanks for the input. One idea I had was to use the Casino's output Monitoring signals to trigger an external circuit.
They get an output for certain functions. (EX: Big Bonus, Regular Bonus, Tokens in and tokens out.) I am only now working in my mine only. (It's lonley in here!) \
If I get enough ideas I might start the project.

    Thanks for your input.

This is the holy grail of pachislo mods to actually change the payout structure of the bonus and make it more like a US machine

This task is next to impossble unless you bypass the problem of having to understand and change the stock japanese programming code.

But I just figured out a way to do it while reading your post,

Most machines have a bonus light on them that lights when you hit a 777. use that output to trigger a 555 timer that would power up the

hopper for x amount of time (simply run voltage to the hopper motor for x period of time ) then you would need to full reset the

machine manually OR in a perfect world , automatically, by having a seperate externally powered microprocessor chip perform this

    sequence ,

relay off the machine power, complete the key lock switch, power back up machine , activate the reel toggel switch and deactivate the key

switch ta da ! PRESTO !

machine now automatically pays x ammount of tokens out the hopper and then resets itself as if nothing happened !

Now you can even get more sophisticated by using seperate bonus lights to trigger seperate timer events and hense less or more payout

This is an idea who's time has come.
I am adding my auto start mod to my 4 Sammy machines and I will start the new payout mods after those are done .(making four more PCB circuit boards takes me some time.)

It looks easy to do and I also thought of adding different English sound effects for the start of each type of bonus. (keeping them short so the original would take over after 1 or 2 English words yell out!)

    Thanks for all the input

Two missing steps in the sequence, the first step being disable (with a relay again) the power side of the spin switch so it's impossible for someone to have the machine start spinning and paying out (while you are powering the hopper) and consiquentally sending additional power to the hopper causing at best, an error ! Also of course to reinable that hot leg to the switch during the auto reset sequence.

I am going to check to make sure I can power my hopper remotely (while the machine is on) without issue and if so, i cant see any reason why
    this plan wouldn't work

Here are some more thoughts about some possible mods.

I have three machines that are exact duplicates in their layout and electronics.
Popeye is one as is Gamera and another is Devil May Cry this last one is an English speaking Pachislo. My thoughts are as follows:

The audio board has some rom chips on it. If I swap the boards on the two machines will the audio go with the board? (will Popeye speak in English?)

The CPU board has a lot of Rom chips on it. What would happen if these two boards were swapped.

Remember all the connections to the board are the same, the chips on the boards have the same numbers. Even the labels inside the machine are identical. I was wondering if I could find out which one has the canned audio by doing the swap outs. (I wonder if this was ever tried before?)

Any thoughts you guys might have would be helpful. If I can locate the right ROM chip I might be able to program one with some English sounds or maybe different music... who knows.

    Thanks for listening

if you swap the cpu boards you will get weird payouts on reel symbols.

the winning symbol sets of reels are lined up to match the cpu

You are right of course, however this idea would only be tried as a test to see if the audio and maybe video would follow the board.
The playability of the machine is not an issue for this test. I just wanted to find out where the "Data" is stored.
. If for example the sound changed to English on the Popeye machine then I have narrowed the location of the sound chips to that board. I might then be able to start making some mods.
Just a thought. (Kind of like thinking out loud.)

Do you have my schematic of the Traditional 30 pin Stop Board. If not I can e mail you a Hi Res copy of it. Shows all the circuitry including the Parlor interface Plug.

I have some Stats on the newer Machines that use the Parlor Interface Boards.

    PIC 2.jpg

Have to find them. The circuits for the Parlor Plug I am sure are the same but I have figured out the LED "Logic" as to what each one means.
