    Default Tekken Hopper Error

I have a Tekken machine that goes into error E2 whenever it tries to payout tokens.

I have pulled the hopper and reseated it a few times. It is easy enough to clear the error but as soon as it pays out the subsequent time it goes back into E2 again.

Is there something else I should be checking on? Is there a sensor or something that needs to be cleaned?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Have you cleaned the sensor on the hopper eject mech. The sensor is usually located right as the tokens eject out of the hopper.

I couldn't find anything that looked like it was sensor. Are there pictures of the sensor anywhere?

You will have to take the top of the hopper off.On yamasa hoppers there are usually two white large screw knobs to unscrew to remove the top of the hopper .Disconnect the hopper and slide it out of the base .Empty the tokens out ,unscrew the top and lift it off the hopper .That should expose the rollers and the sensor.Clean that area well and the sensor. Then reassenble the hopper and slide it back in the machine plug the hopper in tight and check for bent tokens that might jam the hopper.Try that and see if it helps.

I have a Tekken machine. I took some pictures of it. To remove the top, pull the spring loaded lever. Tekken 1.jpg
The top will then just lift off. Tekken 2.jpg There are no sensors there, but you will be able to inspect the rotary wheel for any problems. You should be able to spin it by hand. Put some tokens in it and spin it with your hand to make sure they eject without any problems.
There is one sensor for counting tokens and it is located under the hopper. Turn the hopper over. The sensor is a horseshoe shaped sensor. Tekken 3.jpg
There is a curved shaped lever that passes through the sensor. It has springs connected to it. Make sure the springs aren't broken. The sensor can be cleaned with window cleaner and a Q-tip.

I wanted to say thanks to everyone on this forum. I was having the same problem with my tekken (recently purchased) and it turns out the coin eject mech was so gummed up it could not eject the coins and return to its proper position giving me the hopper error. Some cleaning and WD40 and it is running great.
