    Default 2 Vintage Pachinko Machines - $50 (Norfolk/Poquoson)

I have two vintage Pachinko games. They do have a lot of wear and tear on them but seem to function. I am not sure if the lights and sounds are operational because I have not tried to hook power up to them. There are a few of the metal marbles with the games but not enough to make them operate properly. I have seen them on ebay, I just haven't bought any because I did not plan on keeping them.
One is a Sanyo and the other is Nishijin. I beleive they are from the 60's. $50 each

The monkey and alligator looks fairly clean... and complete. Sanyo ain't worth $50 in that shape. About $30 tops I'd say.

    100 machines and counting...

I can't tell for sure but Sanyo also appear to be missing the ball retainer. (typical on model B's)

I agree $50 for both seems better. Though 40 seems even better.

In all seriousness, I think the seller's asking price is reasonable for these machines based on their condition and themes/desirability. If they were local to me, I would certainly go take a look at them and see if I could negotiate both for $75 ($37.50 each is a fair price, IMHO). I could then recondition them and sell them with a few hundred balls for $250 each.

It's true that every buyer has a different price point threshold depending on the appeal of the overall machine. I guess mine is just a bit higher than most here.

I agree with you Jeff. I am going to test the local market with my Mizuho Little General and see how that goes. If there is a reasonable profit to be made, I may start picking up more machines to fix up and sell. Not sure what my local market will be like though.

A nice reconditioned machine is always nice. BUT by the hour you are losing money big time. If you do it for pleasure nice. I do not think their is any money this day and age with gas and parts and hours. I always want the machine first before I buy or it has alot of balls or or or

I really wasn't going to factor in my time as I really enjoy working on and cleaning up the machines. The work part is really more like therapy for me. However, I really do not have a strong desire to have any more vintages in my collection. If I can pick up machines cheap enough. Have fun fixing them up and then turn around and sell them for a little bit of money then I can see doing that for awhile. I seriously doubt that my local market will fetch me $250 for a restored vintage. I figure if I can get them for $40 or less in repairable condition and then after fixing it up and including a few hundred balls turn around and sell it for $150 or so. I would be happy with that and it would keep me having a machine to work on when I want some "me" time.

For me, it's not about an hourly profit. Like Card Shark, it's therapy and I use 100% of the proceeds to fund my personal toy collection. That way, my wife cannot complain (at least not too much).

Just plan a trip a little South and West, and you can drive away with many vintages!

too many yahoo's selling things at crazy prices around here.

Also it would be more of reconditioned not restored. I have played around with both terms, but have come to a conclusion that you can't really Restore a vintage pachinko. Mainly due to that fact that we don't know what the original condition was when they were new. If you had a brand new one to compare it to then you could say it is restored. Otherwise they are refurbished. Yes you can make them look close to what they were new, but you can't achieve new with nothing to compare it to. Also when refurbishing a machine you are most likely changing something so it isn't like the original anymore. (like replacing a paper cell with a vinyl one.) So refurbished is the best term to use; not restored.

    That is just my opinion.

You are right. Restored is a more apt term. Either way though, I don't see my being able to sell a very clean working vintage in this area for more than $150 and honestly I would be shocked if it fetched that much.

I disagree... there are people out there that would pay that much and more.. its a small group and a tough sell, but its totaly possable.. i ahve sold a few machines that are neither restored or reconditioned..

i have made a point of searching out super clean machines with nice chrome.. give them a good cleaning, make sure there working 100% and i have done well on a few..

    just my 2 cents...

You are right. There are a few people out there who are willing to spend the money on a really nice machine.

For example. Yesterday I was able to sell this machine at full asking price. http://pachinkoplanet.com/zencart/in...products_id=44
