Default Strange Question about my Model A Nishijin

    OK...this is a little weird.
I just broke out my model A that I've had in storage for a little while and I noticed something strange about what was written on it.
Right on the center feature (which is entirely plain and boring when compared to others I've seen here BTW), on the center tulip, it say SCAT. Whats up with that? Has anyone else seen this written on a Pachi? The other tulips say win or get, can't remember which, but that center tulip...clear as day...says SCAT.

Now...here in the English-speaking world, unless we're talking about Mel Torme's jazzy stylings late in his career, we have a fairly specific/gross definition of that word.
Does anyone have a pachi-centric explanation for why that might be there? Acronym, Japanese word,...anything...please...I don't want to have a Model A Nishijin SCATchi.

BTW...I know that its been a while since my last post. It has everything to do with my other hobbies(read addictions) and not because I've left the pachi planet. This vintage, SCATulicious as it may be, has resparked my interest in Pachinko(albeit the vintage type) so I'll be back around for sure.

    Cheers,

    Bob

I'll see what I can do. The writing is pretty small and colored white like the fixture itself.

I remember hearing of this once before here on PT, but I am unable to locate a thread about it. Perhaps it was discussed in the shoutbox.

Anyhow, I remember another member mentioned once that their machine had "SCAT" written somewhere on the play field as well.

Jeff I think you were reffering to me. I have a machine with the SCAT tulip on it. It was in my never ending collection thread. I'll post the pictures for it here in about an hour. (Not home yet)

Well...Here it is. Sorry for the dark picture. Even with the glass open, the glare with a flash was terrible.

Ahh. So you have the orange version of it. (or is it green and that pic is really messed up. )

Attached are the pics of my SCAT machine. (sorry no close up of the CF) But I do have a SCAT tulip sitting in a bin so if you want close up pics I'll take them. (The one I have laying around is orange not green)

I also did some searching on CL today and came across this one. vintage antique nishijin pachinko japan pinball arcade game - $200 (Simi Valley)

It is indeed orange and, as you can see, you can only see it from up close. Truthfully, it has never been a distraction and no one has ever mentioned it. I was just curious as to its possible origin.
