    Default stands and stools

I am building my first slot stand and I think my legs are going to be to long, how tall are most stand tops and what size bar stool do most of you use 24 or 30 inch tall seat) I am using 24 X24 oak plywood with 1X3 oak band in two places on the legs to steady tihings I know the top is tight but it saves me from making cuts with a hand saw(no table saw around). the legs are 2X2 red oak total cost of parts $62.50 Any help will be welcome:confused: Top is now 33 inches

All my stands were the Target mudroom tables which are 30" high. I use 30" bar stools as well.

Thanks to Tulsa (his recommendation ) all my stands are the Target tables, too. Unfortunately, not sure if they can still be found in store. I do think they can still be found online. :burnout:

They run about $100 each shipped.

    Thumbs up Wal-Mart stools

I was at Wal-Mart today and noticed some pretty nice bar stools. The were 30" swivel bar stools for $40. Thay have a padded seat and a metal back, but they're not as nice as Slotter's.

I use the Target mission end table which sales for 49.99. I then buy a wicker basket, also from Target, for 24.99 and place in the bottom. So for about $75, I get a great looking table that has a nice asian flair.

This is the table I use.

The height seems a little low, but I guess you just have lower chairs or bar stools?

I am thinking of building a table that holds four macines. The table will be 30" high based on what I have read here online so far.

Yes, I use a shorter bar stool with a swivel top ($11 each Formost Sales). This makes it perfect for both standing or sitting at the machine. -- I really like the look of the whole set-up.

KNarr - Get them 9.99 stools at Walmart or Kmart cut the legs 2 and 1/2 inches and they will be same size as tv stand thats what i did - thats the folding round top stools , Looks good right level and best it cost 30.00 bucks for both , Leg tips come off with a little screwdriver incorgament and a pipe cutter works fine for cutting legs , cutting anything longer than 2 1/2 causes the cutter to bind ,' Experance knows' done messed up one
These are my opinions and no body elses and you can't have them

This is going to go against what most of you are doing, but I went a different way than most. Instead of the popular 30" height, I went with 19" stands (homemade) and then picked up the chairs WalMart has that they call "Student chairs". They are like a computer chair, black, with no arms, but quite comfortable, swivel, and only $19.72 each.

We are trying to give our gameroom a "casino" feel, so all of the stands are black with a red rope light across the front, just below the machines. We went with the low height and swivel chairs because that's what most of the casinos around here have. It also gives me a few more inches to play with on the wall behind and above the pashislos. Each stand is 48" wide and holds 2 machines, with room between for plastic coin cups. They are made from 1/4" hard board on a 2x4 frame all painted with black latex paint. I've got 3 stands with 6 machines in a row along 1 wall, and it really is giving the effect we were trying for, but we still have some decorating on the walls yet. It also allowed us to get into 6 chairs for only $120.

That is a good idea if you have a lot of Pahislo's. But in my case I have only 2 and that will be all that I get. I got a TV stand from Big Lot's for $19.95. That match the one I had. I just added a door to it. I did not put the casters on it. It was 26" high so I added 2 more ins. on the bottom so it was even with the other one.

Here is a bar stool from Wal-Mart that I have.

More than 38" and you severly limit your playing crowd.
Perfect 34" can be played standing and sitting by almost all people.
Lower than 30" and you will need stools, (No standing play for adults.)

38" should be your max height. (Tall adult can just barely see the top of the machine.) - (Medium adult eyes are level with center line on reels.) - (Short adult can still see the video screen.) - (Kids need a stool, reels are uncomfortable to look at.)

30" should be your min height. (Tall adult can reach the coins with a little bend, uncomfortable looking at reels, but bearable.**) - (Medium adult can just barely see the top of the machine.) - (Short adult eyes are level with center line on reels.) - (Kid may not need a stool to play.)

**At 30" a tall adult may feel uncomfortable with crushed feet/knees under machine.

NOTE: Most microwave stands are close to 30"T X 16"D X 24"W (Tall/Deep/Wide). This is an ideal base for around $25.00 - $40.00. You can get a higher base by adding four screw-on feet to your machine. Screw-on feet are sold in craft stores for foot rests, aromuars??? I suggest that the machines rest up on six 1/4" rubber feet, to allow proper air flow into the overflow hole. (Every-one always blocks that major air intake.)
