    On the back of your coin mech in your picture I noticed that the slug magnet seems to be pushed in a good bit too far.
    The slug magnet is the round brass cylinder with a screw in the side of it that holds the magnet core.
    Loosen the screw and push the magnet out so it is sticking out about and 1/8th of and inch. Retighten
    the screw and give it a try.
    As a rule of thumb I always push the magnet out (away from the coin track) and leave it that way.
    This eliminates a lot of token rejection trouble, particularly the trouble you are having.

    I strongly doubt your sensor is bad unless someone zapped it.

    magnet core has broken off, i bought machine with coin mech problem the bloke i got it from had it for a couple of years he got it with the problem so maybe he zapped sensor
