The green is grounded to the case... but if the other end of the line didn't go into it, it wouldn't be grounding anything.
Are you suggesting that one wire in the cord should go to red, and the other should go to yellow?

best bet is to check the cord and see what color goes with what pin and you may want to pist some pictures of where it connects to help with identifying where things should go

Gents-- some pictures I posted over on pachislodb were the key... I had miswired the plug after the wires pulled out. I rewired it, and the machine fired right up. My fears have been allayed! Everything seems to be working just fine. *sigh* I'm glad to put that one behind me!
